What Dr Ndii is saying is very true. The Kenyan economy runs on five levels. You have the international economy which serves the expats, the wealthy economy which serves the elite, the upper middleclass economy, lower middle class economy and the mama mboga economy. Each of these economies can be enjoyed in different areas in Nairobi. A foreigner actually pointed this out to me. I had never even thought of this before then. A quick confirmation of what Dr Ndii is saying, is walk into a Naivas supermarket in different regions of Nairobi. You'll be amazed by what you find on the shelves. This Kenya Kwanza team may actually have the people's interest at heart.
@conrado.
@conrado. 2 жыл бұрын
Jomo, its sad that you never learnt these in school, its a common course. What Ndii has done is just changing some terms to fit the Kenyan situation. E.g Proletariat with Mama Mboga I, however, accept Ndii has tackled the Bottom Up topic very well. I have even wondered why UDA/Kenya Kwanza has not been bringing him to the tv discussions and instead bringing Alice to shame them Politicians in Kenya do NOT have interest of wananchi at heart. Its their own interest. Even Jubillee used to walk to kiosks and take soda, roadside maize vendors and eat maize and we thought they have wananchi interest ..but whoa

It is not just capital + cost of doing business, it is also how organized or prepared is "the potential - people and skills" of scaling out (or crowding out) the wealth. And how long will it to change to that mindset that works for people? It took time, effort, strategy and commitment for the Asia Tigers and China to figure this out!

This is what i would suggest to create jobs is the govt should propose that every ward should have a computer lab whereby anybody from that ward can go online to get knowledge or information on anything they are interested in, learn computer skills on their own like coding or how to build a website or app, create their own jobs, build something, get knowledge on something they would like to build, get information on the latest agri practices if they have a piece of land and want to make it productive which types of crops to grow the benefits are immense. Also, it would cut down on idleness for the many youths who have nothing to do, they can go to a computer lab and occupy themselves there and you never know what this can do. Take online classes some of which are free or very low cost. Thsi would be a game changer. Every county should provide the land for the computer labs in each ward. A certain percenatage of funds going to counties should be allocated to building the labs. The CDF fund should be used also to help build the computer labs after all you are educating not just a few students but the masses can have access to information and skills. The fee that is a percentage of profits that telecom companies pay to govt , that money should be used to help build and equip these labs. All govt agencies, companies , households should be encouraged to deliver their used or old computers to be refurbished and donated to these labs. The labs can also have online courses whereby one can pay a minimal fee to study an online course of choice. Imagine the number of students who do not get a university place or basically do not want to go to UNI and feel they are better pursuing their passion can go online and persue their passion in whatever subject that interest them for a minimal fee. some courses are even free.

Ndii understands his field pretty well. But if you splash cash into the economy and it gets misused instead of being put into productive use, demand-pull inflation might suffice due to the high purchasing power of citizens. Kenya does not luck in economic policies. In fact, the 1969 Sessional Paper No. 10 that was adopted in Singapore made the latter to catapult from a "Third World" economy to a " First World "economy in barely 10 yrs. He said that politics is all about interests and you choose the politician whose interests align with the people not those who sit on us the so called 'system'. Ruto has been spat out by the system his only hope is the people if he betrays us all his power disappears that is why he is the only person who can be at least expected to implement his bottom up plan in any case he is a son of a peasant unlike Azimio which represents our wealthy capitalist overlords

BBI wanted to increase the distribution to the grassroots by increasing the county allocation from 15% to 35% which will be managed by MCAs through ward funds 9:11 On the gun factory vs garment factory example, in as much as we need industries to create massive employment, we also need highly technical industries to employ higher-skilled workers. Countries such as Malaysia are caught in the middle-income gap, partly because they cannot manufacture higher-value products such as Germany does
