Redhouse is a tricky old place! Sods law with the change of swim!Only joy I've ever had is on the opposite side to where you was fishing, much shallower close in and fish seem to patrol up and down there, Give it a try. Also subscribed, great video mate the quality is amazing! Look forward to seeing how you get on! Tight lines 👍
@ACarpyConnection5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. Thanks for subscribing and also for your comment. I have tried both sides of the lake. In my earlier vlogs I fish the far bank in the furthest swim from the car park. Only trouble with fishing the shallows is the swans. I counted 27 swans on the lake last time I was there😳😳. It is also very very weedy in the shallows now with very few clear spots. But you are right, they do get in that shallow area. I am slowly building up my knowledge of the lake. Hopefully soon my hard work and perciverence will pay off on this tricky water 👍🎣🎣🎣😁. Keep watching and supporting me. I really appreciate it 😁

@@ACarpyConnection 1 swan is enough never mind 27 lol ... been a couple of years since I was last there, always wanted to try the adjustable zigs on there. so many layers of water for the fish to be in. I think if fished correctly youd find them! Many seem to not be doing much with the same methods. Worth a try! And I'll stay tuned mate love the drone footage! Made me want one but dont think it would end too well lol. Keep it up mate and all the best 🎣🙌

Nice one mark! Do they let you use bait boats on redhouse? I don’t know where to start on that lake but need to get a couple of sessions in 👍
@ACarpyConnection5 жыл бұрын
Hi Alistair. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes they do allow bait boats. Depending on which club you are a member of. If you are a member of Pride then you have to buy a permit which is £15. If your a member of the Railway club I think its free. As to where to start, we'll I am trying to avoid the popular areas but that's just my style. I like to find an area and try to get a few spots going hence why I was kind of reluctant to move to the point swim. Try to do something different than everybody else. But I'm not really one to give advice as I'm royally blanking on there atm 😂😂

Another quality vid! Quick question, have you had any issues with line flying behind your spool on your XTD's?! I have the CI4+'s and its happening alot...
@ACarpyConnection5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. Thanks for your comment. Yes I do have issues with line going behind the spool. In fact I have never had it happen so much on any other reel. It looks like Shimanos "line guard" does exactly the opposite to what it should. Just like the 1/4 turn rear drag that actually takes a full turn and a helping hand with a twist. 🤔🤔
@craigtooby4765 жыл бұрын
@@ACarpyConnection no worries mate, your content is bang on IMO, yeah i payed alot of money for the ci4+'s and dont expect them sort of issues! Although the drag on that model is a QD and must admit its silky smooth and the same as the daiwas QD system

Hi Mark, Really enjoying the vlogs. Would love to see a bit on self takes with a dslr - settings etc.?
@ACarpyConnection5 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren. Many thanks for your comment. Sure thing mate. I will add a piece in my next vlog about self take. What camera do you use? Do you shoot in Auto or manual?
@user-vh8gt1bu5x5 жыл бұрын
@@ACarpyConnection Thanks mate. I have a Nikon d3200 with a 35mm prime and wireless intervalometer. I generally use aperture priority but was wondering if you could recommend manual settings for night shots with a rhino beam?
@ACarpyConnection5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, I very capable camera and a cracking little lense too. Is it the 1.8G 35mm nikon prime? If it is then its a perfect lense for portrate and night shots as it has a nice big aperture which will also produce some nice Bokeh (Blurry back ground). In all fairness unless you are shooting in Raw and going to edit the photos, you are probably better off shooting in Auto for night shots with the rino beam and also on camera flash. My D850 does not have a built in flash so i use an off camera flash which i can place anywhere to produce different lighting effects. It also does alot of calculations dependent on the camera settings and produces the correct amount of flash for the conditions.For manual shooting at night though (I will try to keep this simple) i would have the aperture set at f/1.8 as this will allow the maximum amout of light in and produce a very shallow depth of field and a nice Bokeh. Shutter at around 1/125 second. This will give a nice motion free picture. Any slower and you will get motion blur. Manually adjust your ISO until the exposure meter reads correct or just put the ISO on Auto and white balance on auto. Remember to turn off your head torch or even remove it completly and turn the flash on on your camera by pressing the Flash button near to where the lens attaches. I will show how to position yourself and the camera on the Vlog.I hope this helps.

That makes sense. Really enjoying the vids. I can’t begin to understand the work that go’s into filming and editing then but it will be so worth it when the fish drought ends 😄
@ACarpyConnection5 жыл бұрын
Yes mate it is alot of work. I try and film as much as I can and end up using about a quarter of it in the final edit. Takes me twice as long to get to the swim, set up and get the rods out as it used to. It takes me around 9 hours to edit the videos, find the music and create the thumbnails. But I enjoy it. I'm very much into photography so learning videography is really interesting to me. Getting positive comments is really encouraging so thanks for yours and I hope you continue enjoying my vlogs. I'm sure the fish will come soon. Hope so anyway, I'm beginning to look a bit of a noddy 🤣🤣🤣🎣
