Here's my suggestions from someone who use to make poke for the last 5 years in Hawaii. Drain your fish first so the blood is not part of the taste, soy sauce will darken the mix faster than normal we dont use that for this recipe.Here is a recipe siracha, sweet chili, mayo,sesame oil and hawaiian pink salt crush, tosted sesame seed with diced onion, diced cucumber with peeled and seeded and masago roe fridge in 30 minutes before serving. The mix should just coat like you did and not drenched. Dont use garlic ruin the taste maybe some ginger crush for some bites. I hope this help, i miss hawaii havent found a good one in So Cal.

Brandon So what you’re saying is because she’s an expert in your opinion she’s not allowed to watch videos like this, typical rude ignorant behavior says a lot about you anyone can watch whatever they want and it’s great to see what others are doing and learn from things we see, we hear, and we read.

I can only find frozen ahi steaks at my grocers, Is this safe to make poke with?
@SR-rc4on4 жыл бұрын
Terri Duesler...yes you can. A lot of places here (Hawaii’i) actually flash freeze their ahi before making poke. When you go to the market they sell poke labeled as ‘fresh’ or ‘previously frozen’. And some markets ONLY sell fresh poke. Of course its more expensive but the quality is unmatched. Hope this helps, aloha...🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

You don't have to use Japanese mayo, it's a Hawaiian local dish
@ZPD-doo-DAH6 жыл бұрын
"Hawaiian" as in the local island cultures, not in ethnicity. So that includes Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Puerto Rican....etc.which adds to the beauty and flavor.
