Those are Anaheim peppers. Really mild and have a nice bright flavor.

yeah, that's what I thought...stupid store mis-labeled them. Although, the infusion was hotter than the jalepeno one for some reason.

how does this method compare to infusing over a period of weeks?
@cmcocktails8 жыл бұрын
well, first, "weeks" when it comes to hot peppers may be a bit too much. You can make something similar in a few days with jalepenos or about 30-minutes with habanero's if you roast them, peel off the skin and such. This method just gets you there faster.

How’s this any better than letting jalapenos sit in vodka for an hour?
@cmcocktails2 жыл бұрын
Because it’s instant, also works for allspice, cardamom and other less porous foods

@@cmcocktails okay, I was curious if that was why. I suppose that’s what rapid means. Thanks for your fast reply, I’m going to check out some more videos. You’re entertaining

honest, if you're not into very hot things, rapid infusion of hot peppers is probably unwise :) For Ghost peppers, I usually let sit for 10 minutes soaking and that's far hot enough for most folks. Jalapeno's take longer, but you'll get more heat and flavor form ISI than letting soak for 20 minutes. Great if someone asks for a spicy margarita and you wanna get them one now rather than saying "ok, you got 30 min?" Personally, I like it more for rapidly infusing vodka into a gin using botanicals. But, it's also easier to just buy a gin :)
