I think that of all your videos, this is the type that I like the best. I love hidden gems and hole-in-the-wall-type of places that not many people know of. I'll be a tourist this coming August when I get there, but I'd rather avoid touristy areas and go for places that locals go to, and small ma-and-pa type places. These are the places that I like to support. Joy Cup Noodles Mean is now on my list! - Zeke.

Oooh. I used to live in China for 8 years and lived not far from Sichuan province. Cheng Du and ChongQing are two areas within Sichuan (not sure if her analogy of California with SF/LA made sense). And, as you said, Cheng Du is known for their numbing spice (and hot pot). Sichuan in general is all about the numbing spice, but it's all good stuff. But yeah, I love me some Western Chinese noodles and I love that Lulu was so welcoming. We're definitely going to go there and let her know you sent us. This is another of those places I've passed by a billion times and never even considered trying it out, so thanks for the video! I totally don't understand the "no video" policy for restaurants too. It's like saying "Please don't help our business". So weird ... But I respect that you guys respect their wishes. For me, I usually don't film inside places, mainly because I'm so busy eating I forget to film the food. lol. On a related note, I went to the Salvadorian Pupuseria place last weekend. GREAT place! Thanks for the video. They were packed and said a lot of business came from some videos that came out on KZbin. So ... good job! I also upvote the Sweet E's for the Eggs Bene and French Toast. :-) (Plus ... Bird & Butcher!!!! Their burgers .. for real ... Felix, brah ... you gotta go.)

Aloha Amanda & Felix! Happy Aloha Friday. The food looked amazing, I "think" I might have driven by Joy Cup Noodles from the airport to Waikiki because the outside looks familiar. You both go to such interesting places to dine at, most of which I would never have heard of if it weren't for your videos, so thank you. I'm really sorry that you have another incident with a business not wanting for you to film, I can't figure that out, it's not as if you are going into their kitchen and calling the dept of health or something. I wouldn't take it personally, you are doing something VERY good for local businesses and it's their loss if they don't want that extra support. You both are good people with good souls! I would be interested in seeing some videos on what your favorite foods are @ Ala Moana. The desserts you both got looked so good! Mahalo for another great vlog!

You guys have quickly become one of my favorite food channels and have contributed to you guys recently. I'm baffled by the establishment that restricted video. I've gone to private clubs frequented by high profile clientele where both photos & video are banned for privacy reasons, or sometimes only video is restricted. In almost all the cases, the rules were disclosed ahead of time. Seems weird that a casual eatery would ban video... maybe it's just a poorly trained employee or a grumpy owner :) I know it's disappointing, but don't let it get you down. Your videos are enjoyed and appreciated by thousands of people and I look forward to seeing your channel grow even more!

Very nice video. I love how you both are kind and want to present these establishments honestly yet are cognizant of how it could damage an establishment if you publish overly negative comments. I think all people should think of how hard it has been for businesses during C19. It is easy to bury a business with a negative comment when many of them are hanging by a thread already. It's not like videos and ratings go away after a week. They are around for years. On the positive, businesses that treat you guys well will benefit A LOT too! Those blanket noodles look really amazing! I have to look for something similar where I live.

It's hard to balance what is right and wrong for businesses. We want to be completely honest with our reviews but at the same time don't want to ruin a business.
