Nice insight in how this Rotax engine is build together, as a pro mechanic and owner of a car repairshop the only comment and tip I have is for you to work more organized, bits and part,s are lying tossed around on the workbench ,as an airtool buy yourself one with a double hammer system,they are both stronger and gentler for those enginecastings as wel, that hammer has to go, use a soft (nylon)hammer and a proper (plastic)pri tool when dismantling enginehalfs ,safe yourself the damage, these tools are not expensive.

You had me laughing with "destroyed in England by an idiot in a garage with gloves that fall apart." Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done about the idiot part, but I have a solution for the gloves!!!!!!

The flywheel is the big heavy magnetic bit. The bit you called the flywheel is the ring gear for the starter to engage to.

I started watching your videos yesterday because I’m interested in getting a 125cc super moto next month when I turn 17. I’ve subbed with notifications now

Loving the content, I have a question any chance you can make a video of how to drill a bolt out like the exhaust manifold where i connects to the engine because one snapped on me :(

Get an impact socket that is the exact diameter of the bearing and use that to hammer it out, nice and square, in a circle kind of way :)

I did do that in the middle part but wanted to make a hammer joke.

Spicy, have you ever thought of contacting Matt from "The Workshop" about the metal debris in the head? Thank you.
@HalfdeadRider6 жыл бұрын
I explained on his last video, just a build up of metal shavings from poor maintenance, no oil changes. This is why we change the oil often, wear is normal as metal rubs metal, oil just reduces that by keeping it cooler, friction causes heat, heat causes wear. Spicy saw no evidence of worn rings because there would not be any (apart from the massive build up of carbon on the top of the piston, you would get some anyway, but there is a thick chunk), unless you measure the thickness of the rings compared to new ones/manufacturers spec. The engine would run fine but be low on power.
