What’s the movie about?
Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) struggles to manage both his personal life and his Spider-Man duties. He wonders if he should give up his superhero life as Spider-Man to be with the woman he loves.

@Vasu Cool That was one surprising thing that I felt that it was surprising how Peter went in front of the train without his mask on which caused everyone to see his true identity. However, I guess he was forced to show his true identity to Harry and Mary Jane and Dr. Octavius. For Harry, Harry found out on his own after removing his mask and he knew it was pass on to Mary Jane which is why he had to show his true identity to her. For Dr. Octavius, he probably only showed his true identity to him hoping it would stop him from wanting to fight him.

@@Wolf-wc1js the MCU more accurately depicted it. Dumb question, why was there an air train in the first place? Also we clearly see in earlier scenes of this spiderman that he has to make a special hand sign to shoot a web. However, here he shoots tons of webs just by thinking about it and holding on to his previous webs. We don't get to see the logistics of that because they cut it and show us a different angle. No consictency. Then, these webs that supposedly get snapped like a string with scissors, turn out to stop a train. On top of that we are made to believe not a single soul on that train would give spidey's identity for a cheap buck. Especially since peter appears in the daily bugle, so his name is out there. MCU shows that a 16 year old spidey can't repair a ship by himself and makes complete sense where it's located in the movie. Iron man saves the day becuase thats his job.

@@greenlemonboy9762 Disregarding the logic behind the web because again this is fictional, Spider-Man here was able to stop the train on his own and it taxed him to his superhuman limits which is why he fainted after stopping it. MCU Spider-Man wasn’t able to do it on his own which is why Iron Man came in. He saved them because besides the fact that he’s an Avenger he was cleaning up after his son’s mess. Vulture didn’t go for his suit until Spider-Man appeared. Had Peter left it alone, the FBI would’ve handled it. As for the logic of nobody saying who Spider-Man is, Peter’s name appeared in the Daily Bugle. It doesn’t mean his face did. So unless someone from the train bumps into Peter on the street and can instantly recognize him, I very much doubt that anyone from the train would give up Peter especially after he saved them from near certain death

@@Wolf-wc1js it's not about the web logic. It's about the consicetency. A universe can make as many crazy rules as they want, as long as they follow them. This scene showed highlighted spidey's web strenght as much as it did his physical strength. And it had inconsistency with that. MCU spiderman had to fix an entire ship. Iron man was also just doing his job. Peter was making a mistake. Something you would expect a 16 year old kid to do. Last time I checked, the radioactive spider doesn't grant early maturity. Also, the FBI couldn't handle an alien tech crazy man. Thats the thing with superhero movies. Usually the villain is too powerful for other humans to take care of.

This saving scene gives goosebumps. It's the incredible achievement pulled off by a superhero but with the a struggle and real effort. It's at the same level of cinema greatness like saving John Connor in T2 or saving Morpheus in the Matrix. Please comment if you know similar scenes. There aren't many nowadays :(

I also feel the same. Honestly speaking, a hero is not the one who has a lot of strength, but the one who is ready to go even beyond his / her strength, for the greater good. In fact, this scene teaches us a great lesson in real life. Irrespective of how strong, how great or how learned we become, we will be given challenges proportional to our capabilities. What we choose to do in those moments is what defines us.

One of my absolute favorite things about this scene is it's the first time just regular average New Yorkers see who Spider-Man is under the mask and the beautiful thing about this scene is the only line that's said about his secret identity is a line that could sum up Peter Parker's character in a nutshell "he's... just a...kid...no older then my son." The crowd didn't cheer or thank him for saving them nor did they think badly about him they were all just so in awe and in shock to see that New York's favorite wall crawling superhero is "just a kid." It's such a beautifully written scene.

Sometimes in the comics, random citizens for whatever reason catch glimpses of Spiderman without his mask and every time will act like they didn't to help protect his identity. It's an unwritten rule of NYC. "Did you see Spiderman without the mask? No you didn't." It's almost on interesting twist on the "I can't let anyone know I'm a superhero or else they could be in danger" cliche. "Can't let anyone know I saw Spiderman's face or else he could be in trouble."
