Marvel's Spider-Man is one of the worst games I have ever played, and I'm using the word game very loosely because this is not an actual game its a movie. I have never been so bored in my life. I couldn't even make it two hours in this garbage before rage quitting its a boring, repetitive, button mashing piece of garbage that only fake gamers will enjoy. This is 100% $70 DLC, and that is a fact not an opinion, imagine playing something this bad and claiming its good lmao could never be me. Why would I need to take several sets of 4 hit combos to take down a normal enemy on the normal difficulty. And don’t even get me started on the symbiote enemies which are legit damage sponges, taking forever to kill as your incessantly dodging their barrage of attacks. Also, yes gadgets have taken a dip, not as many gadgets and not as situational such as in stealth which has become bare bones and every uninteresting. Also, the best combat and stealth in a superhero game is the arkham games, but that’s just my opinion

Though I do agree with enemies being somewhat damage sponges that's what adds to the fun, and the parry mechanics help a lot to it as well. Would you like combat where the enemy is nothing but some 2 hit goon? And Arkham combat is good, that's where it inspired Spider-Man's combat. While we do have our own preferences, I still think Spider-Man's combat is great. And also you have abilities to help with Symbiotes as well which add a lot of fun.

The perfect example of this phenomenon killing gaming was the Infamous vs. Uncharted era because of those studios histories and tangential relation to Insomniac. Sucker-Punch and Naughty Dog also had competing 'console mascot' characters in Sly and Jak respectively. Going into the PS3 era, Sucker-Punch brought us Infamous and Naughty Dog, Uncharted. Uncharted's focus was on grand set pieces, story telling and visuals; with passable and fun at time gallery shooting gameplay and some interesting puzzles. There was a clear focus on realistic visuals over developing a unique style, more cutscenes, and less depth in moment to moment gameplay compared to the Jak games (instead of flowing through combat and using the various weapons and melee you pretty much just cover from shoot, especially at higher difficulties). Infamous, on the other hand, was a more free flowing style of design. Instead of an on-rails experience, it offered adaptive story telling reacting to the players actions, choices mattering, having a mix of combat styles, good map traversal with a decent feeling open world for the time, and re-playability due all to that approach and design. All on top of combat that was very similar UNcharted with over the shoulder shooting and cover, but augmented with various powers you could use in creative ways that compounded as you got more. Unfortunately, the success and praise of the Last of Us was the final nail in the coffin, and movie-games are now the norm. time to crawl slowly through a small crevasse in a mountain in god of war for the 9 thousandth time, *fuck*

They really fumbled the ball with this game. There were very few, and I mean very few things that I liked. My biggest complaints are all the woke stuff they added. Mary Jane is now the motorcyclist tough girl who doesnt need help from peter. I really hated her character when she became scream. Where she blamed peter for everything. He just went along with it, like "oh yeah its all my fault, we're supposed to be "partners" even though I have super powers. And I always try to make you stay away from dangerous events, so you stay safe because your human, but no its all my fault. Your actually better and more important than me too." Then they make black cat a lesbian. There was literally no point to do this, or to even have her in the game. They added her just to do that. I dont like miles, didn't mind him too much in the first game, would have preferred him to not be there at all but he was fine. In this game hes annoying, and your forced to play as him. And peter is constantly calling him spiderman. Its horrible, I get not calling him miles, but become your own hero. I didnt like the web wings, I really hated how they subtlety made Peter like an athiest or something, they make him say someing about evolution or something If I remember. Close to it maybe. In the comics hes a Christian, im surprised they havent changed it in the comics with how bad they are ,but thank God they havent. They kill off several of his best villains, then they introduce silk, whos worse than miles, we dont need 85 million web slinging super heros, especially when they all work together. Venom didnt even have similar powers to spiderman for some reason, it would at least make more sense for him of all people to. Green Goblin is my favorite spiderman villain, one of my favorites in general, I honestly dont want to see him now, because I know they will ruin him and youll probably have to play as miles because peter is taking a break. Might even have to play silk, and thats a whole lot worse. The gameplay is tedious and repetitive, its all the same moves and combos. Another horrid thing they did is they made it to where it was miles who helped Peter get the suit off, instead of it being a great moment and display of peters strong willpower.

I absolutely hate what they did with Venom. The real Venom is a complex and interesting character who isn’t supposed to be just another big dumb monster for Spider-Man to beat up, he’s supposed to be a challenge for Peter Parker mentally, physically, and personally. Not only did they fumble the bag by making Venom goblin junior, but they took away all of the core aspects and character traits that make Venom such and interesting character and foe to Spider-Man. And his motivation is so generic and one dimensional. Just taking over the city, that’s it, no personal level of rivalry, no psychological conflict, absolutely nothing. Spider-Man TAS and Spectacular Spider-Man were the only adaptations to get Venom right, nailed what the character is supposed to be. Can’t say the same for this pile of trash. Oh and they reduced Cletus Kasady to a Reddit conspiracy nut cult leader and completely stripped away all of the world building that leads to him becoming Carnage from the comics. But I guess that’s what happens when you take away Eddie Brock, who is a key component in the origin and uprising of Carnage. Can’t believe people are saying that this is the best Spider-Man adaptation ever, it’s such a completely insane statement to make. And that’s just one of many problems, that’s just the one that annoys me the most, and annoys me even more when gaming addict casuals go around saying it’s a “masterpiece” because they’re blinded by recency bias. Absolutely ridiculous. Could never imagine myself ever spending 80 dollars on this trash.

The way I’ve tried to push through AC Valhalla(2x and couldn’t finish it) is how I’m feeling now. I’m at lvl 60 and Peter has been a jerk to Harry and Miles is missing, it felt way too easy. It feels like the Saints Row game that you have super powers, the web wings takes away from being Spider-Man! I get that maybe I played too much around the city but that’s point to be spider man but the combat is so boring at this point. If they are worried about inclusiveness make a whole new superhero series. Spiderman is Peter Parker, 007 is James Bond not a woman. If they cared about inclusiveness they would create new characters for people instead of doing something disingenuous like changing the biology of an already established character. That being said I stayed away from this because I knew it was going to be one big cinematic that felt as repetitive as the last. This series had so much potential but I'm glad I didn't fall for the gimmick and thanks for the honest review definitely subbing to this channel

I've made the decision, I'm taking it back. I loved the first game, Infact I platinum it. But not only does it have all this woke shit in it, it also holds your hand all the way. They have focus more on making a movie then the actual gameplay. The swinging around the city is fun and the combats good, but as much is there's good, it has an equal if not more of the bad.

this game's selling points were venom and dark spider-man. Other than those two points, there's really nothing exciting about this game at all. Given the ending of the game, the third game is gonna be worse. What ideas are you gonna sell to the audience to encourage them to buy into spider-man 3? The goblin father and son idea ain't gonna sell it. I'ma say it. Superhero video games aren't meant to have sequels. That's the bottom line to many superhero video games.

Then download Spider-Man 2 while still being on his account and once it starts to download you can now play it on any account for free. I don't understand the hype with this game considering it costs less than a game like for example Elden Ring which has 100x more content and hours and is replayable and it's open world is actually really good while in Spiderman 2 (and other new Spiderman games) there isn't much replayability, the game can be beaten in one or two days effortlessly without much skill required and the bosses are pretty easy to parry and dodge. Also I don't get what's with these Spiderman games pushing propaganda and these idiotic childish messages trying to teach everyone what they already know because it's been pushed down everyone's throat for the last couple of years.

The problem and sad truth is thst OG developers are all either retired or doing something else, fact is new age developers suck and have no idea what they're doing other than reskinning and re-theming previously made games and recycling them into new age garbage! Perfect and prime example of this is MK 1. the game play is rigid, stale, and repetitive, super broken and redundant, feels and looks more like a mobile than anything, and trying to be passed off as a console game, and anyone who has been a true gamer as long as I have knows this and will agree. Games used to be amazing and exciting, I would say up until maybe 2013. Now everything has become about money, dlc, season passes and any other bullshit they can think of to make a quick buck, truly a sad Era were living in kids!

This isnt the worst game of the year, but it is definitely the most disappointing. Suit customization is lesgues worse than the first game. Half of the suits are movie suits and the other half are from the previous game (not even all suits from the previous game return). For a cinematic game you are only meant to play once, they really dropped the ball forcing you to wear a story specific suit in missions and cutscenes. What's the point of having alternate symbiote suits if you are going to be forced to only wear the Insomniac symbiote suit for story missions. I beat everything in the game before the story just grinding suits. There were only 13 new suits that arent a movie suit or from the previous game, that is pathetic. It'll be fixed in an update though, I'm sure

finished the first spider man game some time ago and oh my god was it bad. the combat was boring the characters were annoying AF -MJ would not shut up about her bullshit. i got her killed on purpose a few times just to feel a bit of peace and quite. -Silver sable did not lift a finger the entire time despite being a trained badass ( we did not see her depiction of any badassery ) however she kept kicking spider man for no reason and kept blaming him for stuff. cmon do something useful for a change besides complaining - it had the most boring gameplay ever without so much as a challenge + soundtrack was good + visuals were good all in all it was a waste of time
