Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe weigh in on their respective characters. Special Effects Supervisor John Dykstra talks VFX and what they plan to achieve in this film.

Everyone is laughing at 7:40 but I think it’s a great question and he seemed to know enough to clarify some examples. I felt bad for him but his ideas proved good in the end. One of the great aspects incorporated into TASM was taking more animalistic inspiration from spiders (the poses, using web to track sound in the sewer, the way he crawled and webbed up Lizard).

Here Tobey had a very muscular and sexy physique that he kept a little bit in the second sin that in the third he has lost that muscles .. in no way home he was hot anyway but too thin !!! such a good times these are, how many memories! the best films are those of Sam Raimi (not only a great director but also a great man like few others) the first best film ever, unbeatable, best Peter Parker, best cast, best couple of all couples (Tobey Kirsten) this interview is from years here and only now that this spiderman no way home has come out dozens come almost every day to comment and perhaps get to know these first spiderman for the first time

To a point, yeah, but Superman represents the perfect, idolistic symbol of hope - the American dream. He is rarely shown worrying about paying bills, putting food on the table, balancing his work/social life with saving others, etc. Peter Parker/Spider-Man is shown to have all the same problems we normal humans have, and therefore he's more relatable. It's all relative to a degree, but it all comes down to which aspects of the characters the writers choose to portray, and more often than not Superman is written in a way that's far less relatable than Spider-Man.

A refugee from an alien world raised by a loving couple who knew he could level a house as a baby and understood the importance that he turned out well. You compare Peter Parker and Clark Kent, then you fundamentally misunderstood both of those characters. Both are wonderful characters we can all learn from in life.
