The newer spiderman's are too cool for school. They really are not what the character originally was. Tobey's/Raimi's version is. Peter was awkward socially, spiderman was where he used the humor and the mask to let go of that awkwerdness. It gave the character a logical dichotomy that made him interesting. Like the concious and the sub-concious. In the newest 2 versions he is always a confident and athletic guy. There is nothing nerdy about him or a dichotomy. The character was distilled into "i'm just a guy with superpowers trying to hide my identity".

Compared to the first two for many it’s a let down. Plus Sony forcing Sam to do things he didn’t understand was just a disaster. I love Venom and the Symbiotes but he didn’t. I used to love this film but after watching The 90’s show, Spectacular, and Playing WOS it made me dislike most of this film. I love many aspects of this film like I do this TASM 2 but I don’t let small things blind me from the bigger issues. I’m very glad you love it though, not saying you shouldn’t just a quick explanation of why someone like me fell out of love with it. If it’s anything to note, I still adore the 360/PS3 game and think it’s highly overhated, just as good and better than Spider-Man 2 in some spots. Every movie deserves some type of love (except GB2016)
