Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse (2018)
FIRST TIME WATCHING Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse and let me tell you how much I not only loved this movie, but I also loved the concept of the multi-verse. It makes me wonder if future live action Spider-Man movies will embrace this idea and we might see characters like Green Goblin, Venom, Doctor Octopus and Miles Morales with Peter Parker in the MCU. The Marvel Cinematic Universe would definitely benefit from including a diverse array of Spider-Man villains and heroes!

Fun fact: Miles' universe is actually an alternate version of ours. Hence the Koca-Soda sign instead of Coca-Cola. You can think of Peter B. Parker as being the traditional Spider-Man that we all know and love, just past his prime. The Spider-Man from Miles' universe is an idealized version but you can tell he's not our Spider-Man by some of the subtle differences in his intro montage.

And the blond hair. Although to be honest, first time I watched this movie? When I first saw Mile's Peter had blond hair, my first thought was "He's a clone!" I had no idea what the movie was going to be about at the time.

“THWIP!” 🕷🕸 There’s talk of having this in a live-action version in the third Tom Holland Spidey film, with the other two actors who played him. You should also watch the Andrew Garfield films in addition to the Holland ones too, which, you may be lost/spoiled by if you haven’t seen the Marvel films prior. The directors who left the Han Solo film ended up doing this instead.

A really interesting take on Kingpin, as the character is normally pictured in a white suit. In this film, his appearance in a black suit is our first hint that this Kingpin is grieving. Amazing movie.

The moment I saw the preview, I knew I wanted to see this movie and when I did.. oh... it instantly became my favorite animated film (previously it was The Incredibles and The Jungle Book). I've watched this multiple times and my favorite scene is the leap of faith... inspirational. Thanks for sharing your reaction.

Spider-Man 2099 is perhaps the most famous alternate version of Spider-Man. Alchemax is the name of the evil corporation he works for. There are tons of Alchemax references here.

hey you have great taste. this is an AMAZINGLY well done movie. it won the academy award and i still think it's underrated. so couple of things i think you may not have picked up on: - the blond spider-man in miles' universe is not OUR spider-man. that's why he's blond and all the villains in this universe are a little off - doc ock is a chick here, the scorpion is like a lucha libre dude, spidey has a rippin' "spider cave", etc. - blond spider-man when he's dancing in the street is a re-do of tobey mcguire doing his dance stuff as "evil spider-man" in spider-man 3. but in this universe, same moves but he's doing it with the costume on. - doc ock is foreshadowed early on - notice all the OCTAGONS in her office (the lights that miles is stuck on) and also, even her GLASSES are octagons. - OUR spider-man is peter B. parker - the hobo. just in the future. - the death of miles' uncle is kind of a version of the death of uncle ben for our spider-man's origin story - the gag where the spider-people are on the ceiling trying to avoid being seen by the room mate is a take on most spider-man movies (particularly the first one) where he hides from someone looking for him by clinging to the ceiling... except here, it's like all of them lol

I had the privilege of seeing this film in 3D when it was in the theaters. One of the greatest cinematic experiences ever. I'd also recommend the extended release of Watchmen. It's a much darker take on the superhero genre. Or check out Kick-Ass if you want something more comedy oriented (Hit-Girl steals the show though).

I had read the comics when they first came out so the movie version wasn't much of a twist. It's not identical but Prowler for an uncle who dies has been Miles Morales' backstory for a while. What I loved was how everyone else got to be excited by it! I love Peter Parker but by this point everyone knows his story. With all the endless movie and cartoon reboots means it's lost most of the emotional impact. It's great to see a movie not afraid of telling a new story with the Spider-man name.

Crazy part is how the Kingpin in Miles' reality lost his family because they caught him fighting with Spider-Man and fled from him. Then, multiple other realities' of his family see him fighting against Miles later, so he didn't just repeat the moment but also screwed over Kingpins from those other realities now too.

Miles is the best Spiderman (opinion) because he embodies how Stan Lee feels about the character of Spiderman. Anyone can wear the mask. And the animation and easter eggs for comic fans are just perfect. It also gives all us mixed kids a SUPER COOL hero to embody.

What I really like about the scene with Stan Lee in the shop is that Stan was right. The mask always fits eventually and Miles grew into his own Spider-Man identity, which he couldn't return even if he wanted to either. It's a neat subtle thing at Miles' impending growth. Similar to how he looks up at the original Spider-Man costume in the Spider lair at first and then later matches up to it before making his own suit.

The BEST of all the Spiderman films. It's the comic! You can't do any better. I knew it had best animated feature, half way through the thing, in the theatre. Had to have the soundtrack too!
