Spider-Man: No Way Home starring Tom Holland and directed by Jon Watts is the third MCU Spider-Man film. It brought back heroes and villains from previous franchises in a fun multiverse event, and it's considered by many to be an absolutely amazing movie. I agree with that...sort of. However, I also think it got away with a good amount of nonsense simply by pleasing fans. So, join me while I explain why I think Spider-Man No Way Home is brilliant, but lazy.

I just found this review. It is my favourite review of NWH I have found yet. All the praise and criticisms that the film deserves are clear, concise and well explained.

It's funny that there's such an emphasis on concepts like magic, the multiverse, and time travel in recent MCU movies. Good writers have trouble using them coherently. And as we all know by now, Marvel is a bit lacking in that department.

The only reason it did as well as it did was because it had the other 2 spidermen. If you forget about the new spiderman then its an okay movie. It is also very dumb. For example, how did Spiderman beat Doctor Strange in his own realm? Math? That makes no sense. I really don't like this movie and I finally found a channel that is blinded by the nostalgia and actually looks at the movie for what it actually is. A decent movie that people think is amazing because of fan service.

This movie wouldn't have made as much money as it did if it wasn't for the nostalgia characters. Just saying! This movie would've made back it's budget, cuz it's Spider-Man, but it sure as hell wouldn't have made as much money as it did if it wasn't for those other characters that we know!

Disney is laughing their ass off at these fanboys.. they’re just stringing together steaming piles of shit with zero effort because they know no matter how bad it is, everyone will glorify it as the greatest film of all time. The MCU is the dumb, hot white girl artist of studios..

I agree Spiderman No Way Home has a messy plot and characters acting stupid. However the fan service was great. Also, the writers fix Tom Holland Spiderman and get him back to what Spiderman should be in my opinion.

If we’re being real here, a lot of the drama in these Spider Man movies happen because of somewhat flimsy reasons. Harry in the Rami movies thinks Spidey killed his father based solely on seeing him with the body when for all he knows Spidey may have simply failed to save Norman. Similar thing happens in TASAM 2 where Harry accuses Peter of betraying him at the climax, despite Peter saying he simply needed some time to figure out if there’s a better alternative to immediately giving up his blood. I guess the simple answer for why these Harrys act the way they do is that they’re just misguided and and kinda crazy?
@cheeseburger7788
@cheeseburger7788 Жыл бұрын
eh in the Raimi movies Harry just needed someone to blame, and spiderman leaving immediately after being spotted is hella suspicious if anything it’s Peters fault. but yeah TASM 2 that was just dumb
@solarking952
@solarking952 Жыл бұрын
@@cheeseburger7788 Yeah, Peter being caught with Norman’s body and then leaving without explaining himself definitely comes across as an admission of guilt. So I can kinda buy that. And if I’m being charitable to TASAM 2 maybe the disease Harry had was really fucking with his mind and that’s what made him so pissed.

People keep forgetting that part of Dr. Strange's character is that he is always thinking of things on a different time/space level as everyone else playing to far reaching goals and ends and has no issue sacrificing millions of lives to save billions. The movie plays more like Dr. Strange playing dumb to put Spider-Man where he needs to be while also testing his ability to deal with Multiversal threats and issues as this is a threat the world is fast & growingly facing more and more as Magic, Eternals, Celestials, Multiversal beings, Mutants and more are coming. In every instance where Strange loses he is deliberately delaying his next move to allow Peter to make the move he wants him to make. From first stealing the box to how long he waits to leave the Mirror Dimension allowing Peter to steal it again. Strange knows Peter is a genius and knows the Mirror dimension is based on physics and math and deliberately allows Peter enough time to figure it out. The ONLY things that surprise Strange in the entire film is how the Spider-Sense is a motor-reflex allowing him to evade even with a disembodied soul rendering him unconscious and Ned managing to muddle through the basics of portal making without a teacher. (Keep in mind - Ned THINKS he's magic, but people aren't Magic and not magic in the MCU - in the MCU it's a science that everyone can learn.) It just gets lost a little being a Spider-Man movie and not a Dr. Strange movie which plays out more like a fun & exciting Spider-Man dimensional hijynx story the franchise is known and beloved for. But I personally love the idea of Holland's spider-man (who arrested Vulture and tried to arrest Mysterio instead of going for the kill) taking exception to alternate versions of himself killing people personally and trying hard to correct it - and bringing in the previous Spider-man actors to admit to the error of their judgement and want to find a better way.

My first time seeing No Way Home in theaters, I thought it was the best Spiderman movie ever made. However, on the second viewing (at home streaming). I have to strongly agree with you. It’s great the first time, but you start to notice a lot of shit that was a little too convenient to the plot after the hype wears off

This is a good review. But to comment on your part about Eddie being teleported to the MCU, I think it is because in the Tobey Maguire trilogy the symbiote knows that version of peter. Towards the end of the movie Tobey's Spiderman mentions that he fought an "alien of black goo", and in Venom 1 (I believe) Venom says that all symbiotes either have or can share memories with other symbiotes. Maybe that is why they were thrown into it.

They’re not a multiversal hive mind. Venom would be near omnipotent. It’s just lazy writing, nothing more.

[In response to this part of the video] -->> 22:49 I'm sorry but who does it not?!?!? Just like the other MCU entries, it basically ignores what happens in the whole universe....just like the other ''MCU trash heap'' so honestly I'm not excited. Everything feels so scattered in the MCU, including this movie( Spider-Man N.W.H ).

Also, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness draws power from the dark dimension by manipulating matter outside of the mirror dimension. You can see him doing this at the start of the movie when fighting that one-eyed octopus monster. This story-breaking detail, tied in with Strange acting like a moron in movies past the first Doctor Strange film, points to Strange actually being impersonated by someone else - my guess is Mephisto.
