The whole 'Home Trilogy' was basically the 'Training Wheels Program' like Ironman said. Those movies taught him how to be a hero. Think about all three movies. Vulture was his first solo battle with a big bad that taught him to trust his instincts, Mysterio was a lesson in navigating his grief over Iron vs letting that grief cloud his judgment, the Sinister Quintet taught him that heroism isn't just about just stopping bad guys, it's about understanding if they are just bad or if they are victims of circumstances (Tobey and Andrew's Spidermen already knew those lessons). It also taught him how valuable his identity is in conjunction with his heroism. With all he's been trough since Civil War, it'll make him a more mature hero. I look forward to college Spiderman. I wonder if they'll introduce the Fantastic Four as grad students in college with Nathaniel being the new owner of avenger's tower... Maybe that's they way Peter meets them, as part of a science grant researcher....idk.

If they make Nathaniel Richard's a character in anything besides flashbacks for Reed it will kill any chance chance have at a council of Reeds story line or most of Hickmans run with F4

One thing I noticed that I haven't seen anyone mention is that he stopped pulling his punches at the end. Mid movie Garfield's Spiderman mentions how he stopped pulling his punches after the loss of Gwen ( Maguire gestures in agreement.) We see Holland's Spiderman do this the second time he fights the Goblin. When he punches the shield and the impact makes that huge dent and it rings like Cap's shield in old movie I think was a clear moment they displayed he was no longer pulling punches. This is depicted in the comics when he punches a villain's head clear off!

Now that Peter is forgotten by MJ, and he’s thinking about how to balance his normal and superhero life, I think this is a good way to introduce another love interest for him. Specifically black cat. She can be a someone who takes interest in him as Spider-Man, and kinda tempts him to give up that “normal life”. Ultimately, we know he’ll be with MJ in the end of it all, but black cat could be a nice way to grow his character up even more for an arc or two.

Think though it’s important to point out that people still know there’s a Spider-Man even though they don’t remember Peter. They still know w fought with the avengers and defeated thanos. All events that involved Spider-Man are still in peoples memories but they don’t remember the times he was out of his costume as Peter Parker. So he can still show up to help the avengers and they’d be like “oh hey Spider-Man! Nice seeing you again.”

I feel like this movie fixed nearly every problem that I had with Peter Parker/Spiderman in the MCU and retroactively fixed a lot of the problems I had with the old Spiderman movies. Spiderman is now an unknown loner without Tony Stark's backing. I loved the new look of the villains. I love the new (final scene) Spiderman suit. They gave us a beautiful "Great Power, Great Responsibilty" foundation for Spiderman moving forward. It was an amazing film and though, I didn't love this movie to death... they covered a lot of really important bases and I'm so excited to see what's next.

Lol First you mad cuz Dr.Strange is way too powerful to beat Spiderman, then you mad cuz Dr. Strange ain't powerful enough to cast a spell? He don't have the Eye of Agamatto, guess what? Neither do Wong, or Loki, or Wanda or anybody else we've seen do Magic. But he's still Sorceror Supreme... He can still magic his ass off. Probably better than most people in the universe. So gimme a break, he ain't Magic enough to essentially hypnotize the world. People hypnotize each other now, in the actual world, and there's little to no time travel involved. And he was doing a spell... not just winging it magically. It takes Magic, intention, concentration, etc. to make it work, but it's a spell. I.e. some real Magic shit that works, that somebody figured out and did before, and wrote it down, and has been replicated, presumably. It's just a matter of who and how many and how much needs forgetting as to how Magic YOU have to be to make it work. We saw Ned make some Magic shit work. Lol And the other thing, just cuz you Magic don't necessarily mean you can fight. Give Strange some time and distance and sure, he could made Spidey just give him the fucking thing back. But, punch him in the nose, web his hands up, draw his attention to what you're doing and which way you ran, or swing... swinged...swung, and maybe he don't cast the perfect spell, or the harder spell. Maybe he can't make the right hand circles. Maybe he gets his bell rung and he can't think of the spell. It was a sprawling fight across a crazy dimension, not a chess match. And Peter was trying to escape, not hurt Strange. I'm sure Strange didn't want to hurt him either. You think maybe he was handling Pete with kid gloves? More like, "C'mon kid you had your fun, give it back", than, "This is the last chance to save the universe" type of fight from Strange. It ain't crazy to think that the younger, stronger, super-powered genius could basically neutralize and flee the Magic guy. We're not talking like he kicked the shit out of him. And lastly this is the 8th Spiderman movie. And idk the 100th superhero movie. They've made these things for like 50 years, and here you are now, talking like "This movie is bullshit! Hero A could never win a fight with Hero B!". Look man, they punch for a bit and then they're mates. That's how every 2+ Hero movie has gone forever. You thought that in 'Spiderman: No Way Home', Spiderman and Strange would fight and Dr. Strange was gonna Son him? And then what? Movies over, I guess. All wrapped up.. Go home. It's the MCU. Power level is based on whatever it needs to be at the time to move the plot forward. And don't resort to any comic book based take either about who'd win - they been making those for 100 years. Everybody has fought everybody. Everybody has beaten everybody. Everybody has slipped up and lost. And everybody has gotten lucky to win. If your opinion about one fight or one person's power level can take you out of the cinematic experience, then you probably shouldn't watch the MCU. And if you didn't like the movie, fine. I'm sorry. It sucks to be you. But to say that the movie isn't good, or great, or awesome is like, it's like saying Wizard of Oz sucked bc you don't believe that bitch walked all the way down that yellow brick road wearing THOSE shoes. She could've taken them off anytime! Like, it's a thing because you think it's a thing and it's not really a big thing to get past. And there are a lot of other great things to like about the movie if you get past it. And, idk. It's a weird thing to be worrying about in a movie like that. Dont worry, bro. Rob, the piece of the Venom suit being left in the MCU could lead to a more comic accurate Venom story arc, wrapping in the Future Foundation, a different Eddie…Knull…all of it. That piece of the suit is the only thing in the MCU that remembers who Spider-Man is.

Like the fact that since Spider-man is who Vemon really wanted to meet before they got sent back, that piece of Venom will still have that same urge and motive and seek out Peter Parker to fuse with him. Then set up a whole new arc for Spider-man and the Sinister Six.

When you think about it, from Civil War through the Homecoming trilogy, what we actually got was just a super long extended version of a Tom Holland Spider-Man origin story. So, we thought they had decided to skip an origin this time, because we’d already seen it, when instead, ultimately, it became the longest superhero origin story in film history.

Tom Holland's Peter Parker being accepted into the Future Foundation is brilliant in not only that can introduce the Fantastic Four characters into the MCU but also give as the Future Foundation suit Spider-Man. Him in this element could open so many possibilities for stories/movies.

Rob. What do you think of my 2 theories? 1) Venom knew Peter Parker, not Eddie, bc of the "multiversal hivemind the Symbiotes share. That being said, I believe Eddie and Venom will go to New York in search of Peter Parker/spiderman to blow everyone's mind by him finding Andrew Garfield's version and that the Venom and TASM universe are 1 in the same. Sony wants their own Spiderman. This would be a complete missed opportunity if they don't take it. 2) morbius is in the MCU. Oscorp is actually a rebranded Stark Industries that the government (who seized it) auctions it off to a investor/scientist named Norman Osborne, why we see oscorp in trailer. Spiderman is still deemed a murderer (graffiti in morbius trailer), vulture is in trailer (who now hates Spiderman again bc he forgot Peter Parker, and the "I am venom" scene in the trailer is just smoke and mirrors by marvel.

The spell reaches across all known and unknown realities, the entire multiverse doesn't remember peter parker. It's great that he's finally out of Tony's shadow, having all that stark tech at his disposal really hindered his development.

He was already Spider-Man. He even said in Civil War the famous line even if it was said in an overly complicated way. Had he not learned that lesson then he wouldn’t be Spider-Man now. No Way Home finally said THE line and put Peter in a situation where he is now an adult. This wasn’t about him becoming Spider-Man. This trilogy was about growing up.

I personally, find it really weird that out of all the spoiler reviews and discussions I've seen about this movie, no has brought up one thing I noticed that I thought was a really cool detail. After Strange knocks Peter's astro self out of his body, Peter watches himself and is surprised to see his body keeping the box away from Strange on its own because his "Peter Tingle" works subconsciously. When the camera cuts to tight shot of Peter, you can actually see his Spidey Sense around his head, working as it's always been depicted in the comics.

A thought slightly off-topic; do you think that there was a change of heart about Tom Hardy and Venom between 'let there be Carnage' and 'No Way Home'? The more I think about it the more it feels as though when they pulled him through to the MCU dimension, he was going to stay, but at some point someone changed their mind as so they reset it, leaving behind the symbiote as an easter egg...

I'm kinda glad they did. This could set up black suit Spidey without Venom and they can always bring him back. I felt like the solo Venom movie being completely divorced from Spiderman kinda ruined a lot of that story thread and it's possibilities moving forward. Imo it was a little goofy to throw Tom Hardy into the MCU and yank him back out 5 minutes later, but it resets some of the potential for Spiderman and the symbiote in the MCU.

Agreed! And it's all been written so well it seems like this has always been the plan. In the other movies, you don't really get to know uncle ben too well before he dies, but by the time we got to no way home we have 3 or 4 movies with Aunt May have major interaction so when she dies it's heart breaking and not just a footnote to get the "with great power" line. I did not think I would ever see a 3rd installment that is better than the first 2 in my life yet here we are. Marvel has learned to set the bar lower for intro movies and save the best for last to keep sales climbing instead of dropping off - genius!!

I think it made them all variants, at least if they lived since Tobey's Parker never saw him again, so they each went time to a different but parallel universe just like theirs, I believe. Time Bureau Authority would have erased them, but now that the Loki's have reopened the multiverse for the Kang's to fight over, they live. So yes, Loki can return, every variant still living. But imagine a Tony Stark from another universe who knew Peter Parker came through from a universe at a time a little behind that Thanos was about to erase them all in his universe after failing to get the stones, but he and Aunt May being the closest to him slipped through. That is what I'd like to see. Ok, just Tony, so Peter can deal with losing her and Tony forgetting who Parker is and been reuniting with Pepper, to save them from government backlash. They didn't add that because that would have stolen the movie at the end. Can't wait for the Doctor Strange and multiverse of madness being like the reunited avengers movie, not just Scarlet Witch. She can't help carry a movie this big, unless she is the villain.

You need to talk about how the ENTIRE timelines of the Tobey and Andrew’s universes have changed. For example, If Norman is rehabilitated and isn’t killed in the end of Spider-Man 1 then Harry Osborne won’t be driven to kill Spider-Man and as a result the events of Spider-Man 2 and 3 change. This opens up infinite possibilities on what they can do with that universe.

@@john-tobeymaguirecena Yes, if I was writing the movie there would be a Daredevil team up early on, which ends in disaster when it reveals Kingpin is now comic book strong and kicks Daredevil's ass. I think they set up the black suit too, not just the symbiote but the idea that Peter needs to keep his temper, but also likes the power boost. My prediction of future Tom Holland's appearances. Fantastic Four: We won't have a "beginnings story", but we will have the early days of the FF, and Tom Holland would be there for a little cameo, trying to be part of the FF. Phase 5 and 6 Spiderman 4: we will have Tom in his days in college, trying to conquer MJ, and being a more street-level Spiderman, without the aid of no one else. Probably Kingping and someone working for him (Kraven?)would be the villains. Another Cameo in another movie. (Xmen?) Spiderman 5: We have the little venom thingy trying to find this universe's Eddie brock and some sort of villain related to this. Probably one of the many scientist-type enemies of spidey. Avengers 5 or whatever Spiderman (The sinister) 6: Right after returning from whatever avengers 5 was, still tired and injured, Spiderman has to face the sinister 6 (Vulture, Venom, Scorpion, Mysterio, Someone (kraven?), this universe green goblin), dying while dealing the final blow to the green goblin, just as in ultimate spiderman, and another spiderman (miles morales) will be teased at the end.

I think it would be interesting to see Peter meet the MCU versions of the villains he fought in NWH but with a twist. Maybe some of them forego becoming villains altogether and become allies, while others may not become anything at all. I could also see Peter’s efforts to prevent one of them from becoming a villain being the very thing that pushes them to the dark side. For instance, maybe the MCU Norman Osborn is a genuinely good guy but Spider-man’s attempts to keep him from becoming the Green Goblin inadvertently push him in that direction.

When Strange cast a very similar spell in the comics to make the world "forget" Peter Parker was Spider-Man, there was a loophole in the spell in that anyone that Peter subsequently revealed his identity to, that previously knew him and his secret, immediately became immune to the spell and remembered everything about him again. I wouldn't be surprised if they do something like that in future films in order to allow the "supporting cast" to again be part of Peter's life and adventures.

The 4th film should be a mixture of a mob film and crime espionage with the symbiotic in the mix. Spidey and Daredevil teaming up against Kingpin, Tombstone the Henchman (at this point), Mr. negative and Hammerhead with Black cat with spectacular spiderman elements and the 1994 animated series. Peter and Felicia belong together as much as bruce and Selina. MJ, Gwen, liz, Betty are all wack as fuck. The 5th movie should be about Alistair Smythe and the spider slayers with smythe becoming the ultimate spider slayer, Michael Mando should return as scorpion in this movie. And this is where you introduce Ned as Hob Goblin building up to sinister 6 in the final movie in the college trilogy. And meanwhile we get specific crossovers with Tom's Spidey against venom and then working with venom against carnage and toxin. Working with Blade and the punisher against morbius and in Kraven 2 with the symbiote suit emulating Kraven's last hunt. Silver sable should be introduced in the first Kraven movie. Meanwhile in Andrew's universe they go forth with the clone saga with the jackal introducing Scarlet spider ben Reilly and Kaine with Emma stone returning as spider Gwen/ghost spider. Tobey's spiderman should have one last outing with him having his daughter May taking the baton but the movie ending on a superior spiderman cliffhanger as Otto returns in full glory but now in Tobey's body. MCU and Sony need to stop messing up so that we can get an original Norman Osborn in the MCU taking over SHIELD and turning it into HAMMER and forming the Dark Avengers in the Avengers tower that was sold. That would bring it full circle and be poetic. And we build to Norman's descent into madness as the goblin into Tom's final duology after the next trilogy adapting the night Gwen Stacy died properly. No more individual Tom Spidey movies after that and only crossover events including the inheritors (morlun), Knull, and some avengers stories as well. Miles takes over as Spidey and Tombstone becomes the big man of crime by this point just like in spectacular spider-man as the albino contrast and the dynamic with miles would be too insane not to do. Each individual living different experiences due to their skin colour. My pick for tombstone is Marvin Jones the III. Tombstone is such a cold villain and I hope they go the spectacular spiderman route and have him be this bigger threat instead of just keeping him as a henchman. Potential team ups also include Deadpool, Wolverine, the street level heroes like Heroes for hire, Jessica jones, white tiger, Johnny Storm and eventually being a part of the future foundation. And I hope we get a different agent venom/flash Thompson not from the mcu because Tony revolvori ain't it. Maybe they can have harry as agent venom or flash from Andrew's universe as agent venom after Eddie becomes anti venom or maybe even Frank Castle as agent venom after he becomes war machine. I'd like to see Tobey becoming Spider Carnage or Man spider and Raimi directing that as he excels in body horror. Also Mac gargan/scorpion should get the symbiotic after Peter removes it after secret wars and hope we get Helen Mirren as Madame Webb

I could see them at the very least pitching another crossover with the cinematic Spidermen, they all did great and I'd love to see them team up one more time. I'd imagine that might lead to Miles taking over after Tom Holland's second trilogy concludes or feels like he's aged out of the role. But that would probably depend on the state of the multiverse and who exist. I think that Tom will be the masked face of the MCU going forward until they introduce the Xmen. I'm not sure if the Future Foundation is something that he'll want to join willing at first. It may seem too on the nose and akin to his Stark Internship. I'd imagine that the FF would be Stark Ind. rebranded giving Peter a chance to awkwardly interacting with Pepper, Morgan, and Happy. Hopefully Happy is the one that starts connecting the dots and is able to recover his past memories of Peter and what connects them showing that it's possible to recover from the spell if your connection is strong enough

I think the spell is specific for the MCU Peter Parker. Dr Strange was able to concentrate and make it specific for the MCU. It was Peter’s indecisiveness that made the original spell go awry and backfire.

I don’t know exactly where this is going, but I think after the multi-verse of madness, Doctor Strange will cast a spell that allows the people who knew who he was before to remember him. Or, he could become a sorcerer. They can’t just put that on the table and ignore it, so I feel like they will do something with that. The ending was definitely bittersweet. Im not against him finding his way on his own for now but I hope it doesn’t follow the same formula from passed Spider-Man trilogies. It was great seeing the passed trilogies on how each version of Spider-Man overcame their own problems. I think what people keep on forgetting is that with the passed Spider-Man movies was that he was basically the only hero with no Avengers. So of course they’re on their own when facing whatever life and villain problems they had. This version of Spider-Man that we have now has other heroes going around and about so ofc he’s gonna interact with them at some point. This might be an unpopular opinion but I love how we get a different take on Tom’s Spider-Man because of how he interacts with other characters/Heroes. One last thing I wanna point out was on Far From Home with the conversation he had with Happy. I mean it could be interpreted in different ways but I took it as Tony passing on the torch to Peter (not the iron man title or anything but the responsibility he once held). I hope the MCU doesn’t waste that conversation because that had so much depth in so many ways. For now we’ll see the Spider-Man that we all got to know growing up and I’m excited for that! I just hope that he won’t have to solo too long after he gets developed. Later on take his rightful place on the Avengers and possibly leading it.

Rob I completely agree Tom Holland hasn't really been Spiderman until NOW. I really enjoyed myself. I like Homecoming and Far From Home. But they're bad spiderman movies. Peter doesn't suffer from the consequences of his actions as much as he could/should. They're good movies not good Spiderman movies. But No Way Home was a great ending for Tobey and Andrew and a great movie for Tom's Spider-Man. It was a satisfying ending for Tobey and Andrew. They got to help Tom learn how to move on. Tom actually had consequences for his actions, he made his own decisions, he used his brains. He is no longer "Iron boy jr." in my eyes. When Andrew and Tobey walked onto screen I was filled with joy. When Andrew saved Michelle it hit me right in the feels amazing stuff. When Tobey and Andrew spoke to Tom about Uncle Ben, great, giving Ben the recognition he deserves. When Tobey sacrifices himself for Tom and they finally cure Norman it felt like a worthy conclusion for Tobey and Andrew saving Norman and Michelle. I like everything they do with Michelle in this movie it feels like her and Tom have a real relationship. And I like the reveal in the police interrogation that her name is "Michelle Jones Watson". Tom made multiple mistakes and suffered the consequences. That is fantastic. He has to live with his decisions now, he is his own character. Everyone forgets he is who he is. He has no friends or family. But that's not really consequences because he will talk to people and make new friends and his old friends like Michelle, Ned and Happy will probably remember him as well as the other heros. But, I love that they killed May, here there are consequences, it ruined the moment when she tip toed around "With great power comes great responsibility" like just SAY IT. But in general good stuff. I love the pain in Tom when May dies and he meets Tobey and Andrew. The conversation between Tom, Tobey and Andrew on the roof was brilliant. I loved hearing from Andrew about what happened after Gwen died and Tobey talking about Ben. It was perfect at the end Tobey standing between Tom and Norman, like Harry did for Tobey. So many amazing call backs, "My back!", that were done properly. They didn't feel forced to me. I loved seeing Otto get redeemed gave me a sense of pride and to see Sandman and Otto help the Spider bros was amazing. I will buy this on dvd and blu ray and watch Tobeys trilogy, Andrews movies and No Way Home back to back. No Way home is Tom Holland's Spider-man

I honestly think, it leaves it open to any of the other Spiderman series of movies to be redone now the Norman Osborne and Doc Oct are now Time Variants of their former sleves in the Ramiverse, and Electro going on to live in the Amazing Spiderman universe.

I actually HATTTEEEEDDDDD Tom Holland’s Spider-Man until this third movie. I rewatched them before I went to the theater and I just hate everything that’s written about him. His movies never have intros (the intros are in other movies, Civil War, EndGame, End of Spider-Man 2) Tom NEVER gets anything solved himself, Ironman always came to save the day. His attitude is just too childish, etc. He gets everything handed to him, suit after suit after suit and he just leaves them around. And I LOATHED how carefree he was about his identity in the first two, but it makes sense with the plot of this movie because he was so careless for so long 🤣🤦‍♂️ And I could go on and on and on. I felt like he was seriously missing a core Spider-Man aspect and with this 3rd movie it pulls Tom Holland’s Spider-Man altogether!! I actually felt like he deserved the title after this movie🙌🏻 It’s unfortunate that it took 3 movies to get his full origin story tho, goodness gracious haha
