Spider-Man: No Way Home Sinister Six Mystery Villain Theory (Nerdist News w/ Dan Casey)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to get a whole lot more sinister. The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer not only confirmed Peter’s adventure into the multiverse, but teased the long-awaited arrival of the supervillainous Sinister Six. While five of the members seem to be identified in the trailer, a big question mark still hangs over who the sixth and final member could be. I think sandman is not part of sinister six because if you play the trailer at 0.25 elektro's thunder bolt was about to hit Spiderman but sandman blocked it with his sand abilities and the other part you can see that elektro's lightning is mixing with sandman's sand, for me it looks like they are fighting

No, and no. Kraven will be having his *own live action film* in the near future, so no chance he appears as a member before this movie (Chameleon from Far From Home may be appearing in the movie though), and Mysterio more than likely be the 6th member of there official team up, which is not in this movie. Its more of a makeshift Sinister Six. My personal theory is Sandman isn't a member of the Six and will be a good guy, leaving room for two villains instead of 1: Scorpion and Vulture. One of them may die (like Lizard) and make room for Mysterio to be recruited at the end. Official team would be: Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Electro, Scorpion, Vulture and Mysterio. I also think more than 6 total villains could have a presence in this movie somehow via Easter eggs or cameos like Rhino or Shocker (small fight scene before the other villains show up), Chameleon, Kingpin and Mysterio. But it would be nice to have two members of this movies Sinister Six be from the MCU villains that have personal vendetta w MCU Spidey. Either way, with the whole memory wiping thing, I'm just hoping this movie sets up the REAL MJ appearance as well as Felicia Hardy, Kingpin and Daredevil, Venom etc. , to be part of the MCU and Spidey films going forward. People complaining that they only want "solo Spidey movies" are insane because some of his best stories involve Daredevil, Fantastic Four, etc.

I feel like this is the obvious choice. Mysterio's power of manipulation/deception is fairly astonishing. Having said that I really hope Tom Hardy's Venom is in No Way Home. It is a long-shot but come on... the failed andrew garfield spiderman movies are going to be in No Way Home... If they go with that garbage then you'd think Sony would double-down on getting Venom as much screen exposure as possible to boost sales of that property.

My guess is either Venom or Ned (Hobgloblin). Venom because his reality literally shifted into the MCU in Venom 2’s post credit scene. But there is also a big chance that Venom could team up with SpiderMan. If that is the case, I feel like maybe a Ned from a different reality could be evil, this being Hobgoblin. It’s really a 50/50 for me at this point.

I really do not get the hatred of ASM2. I just watched it again today and I still think it's a lot of fun! I loved Jaime Foxx's original Electro! I thought they had some great fight scenes and action! I'll admit that Pre-Powers Max is a tired stereotype, but we only see that for like, fifteen minutes of the movie, tops? Idk, maybe it'll never make sense to me and I'm just a plebe, but I really enjoyed ASM2.

No, what doesn't make sense is that Raimi has 3 villains, Garfield Spidey gets 2 or 3 and MCU Spidey having NONE in the movie.... that wouldn't make sense. What makes more sense is having two villains from each Verse i.e. Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Electro, Lizard, Scorpion and Vulture. Two from each verse, while Sandman is an ally to Spidey.... that makes the most sense. If Rhino is inthe movie as the 6th villain.... *I GUESS* .... , but he would make more sense as a street villain who he has a fight with before the other villains have made their presence felt.

Rhino should be a minor villain that gets beaten (Ultimate Spidey 2005 game style) and then has to face the others during the movie. Thats how I would do it anyway, and Sandman should be an ally to Spidey[s]. IF Rhino really is villain 6, than so be it but it would be a bit of a ball dropper, though I heard they are saving Vulture and Scorpion for a prison break in another movie thats coming out soon 🤷🏽‍♂️

Doc Ock, Electro, Green Goblin, Lizard (to replace Mysterio), Vulture will escape prison and Sandman turned out to be not so bad a fella at the end of ASM3 so I think he'll actually be one of the good guys. Kraven has a solo Sony movie planned but it will take place in the Venomverse along with the Morbius movie so he's probably out of the SS. The 6th member is someone they really want to be a surprise, Shocker and Rhino wouldn't be that big of a deal. My guess is The Punisher. That's right, Frank fucking Castle who first appeared in Marvel Comics as a hitman hired to take out Spidey.

Makes sense, if Scorpion had to be showed up, it's must have be in No Way Home, since he just get a little cameo in Homecoming. (I believe Tom Holland spidey will get fourth movie) Check out No Way Home lego sets, there's scorpion & spider toys figure in "sanctum workshop", i believe it supposed to represent a scene where "a scorpion battling a spider" somewhere inside the sanctum. (Just a theory) The only thing i disagree is The Vulture, i believe the man was intended to protect spiderman identity (like in the homecoming credit scene where scorpion ask him about who's spidey identity) and i think vulture will become allies to Peter because he owed Peter a life. Maybe the twist here is, at the beginning the Vulture pretending to join the sinister six but in the end he sacrifice himself to save Peter. Also I think other spidey (Tobey & Andrew) will shows up at the ending scene or even just at the post credit scene. I also not convinced by the leak who said Tobey and Andrew will have a bigger role (about the same screentime as Tom).

Here's a buckwild theory. "Venom" isn't in this movie. What if the symbiote is though? If Tobey McGruire's Spider-Man DOES appear....what if it's during the events of Spider-Man 3? If it's before the Symbiote infests him...maybe it still gets caught in the interdimmensional crossrip or when that Spider-Man crosses over, it's while the Symbiote is with him. What if the Spiderman-3 Symbiote, that's much more sinister than Tom Hardy's Venom, infects Tom Holland's Spider-Man and this sets up for a Spider-Man vs. Venom adventure in the MCU Universe? Buckwild, but why not?

I think it's going to either be the Vulture, Venom or the Lizard but I think the Lizard us more likely since they're bringing villains from other universes. Green Goblin and Doc Ock from Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and possibly Sandman and Electro and the Lizard from Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man. I also want to mention that in the trailer it kinda looked like he was wearing the black suit and that growl from the shadows could be venom??? Someone also mentioned that the camera panning onto the wizard lights could be an Easter egg of sorts for the Hob Goblin.

Got one more choice that could really throw everyone on their heads: Kingpin. From into the Spiderverse. But not animated, though what with the alligator in Loki, I could 100% see it being an animated version a-la who framed roger rabbit in the movie, along with Miles Morales. Though that'd probably be significantly more difficult to pull off, as well as harder for an audience to swallow so it's unlikely.

My theory is it is Lizard, Goblin, Doc Ock, Electro, Rhino and Mysterio. Sandman will be part of the Sinister 6 at the beginning but switch sides (in the trailer it looks like he is blocking electros attack) and then Mysterio will be revealed at the end. In the sinister 6 they often betray each other and sandman flipping sides would make sense.

I'm still a fan of the 6th being venom and will serve as the bridge to have spiderman leave the mcu dimension and and up in the dimension formally known as Spumc. Especially since the rename has spiderman in the title. For me the most interesting would be if only the symbiote crossed over initially and we get a mini black suit arc but spidey rejects it and it rebounds to Eddie with some new tricks in tow. Because let's face it, a spell that makes everyone forget Peter is spiderman could easily go wrong by either removing spiderman from that reality or by having someone else become spiderman. Or both. Parker moves to spumc and Miles comes to the MCU?

I don't think Sandman is involved, I think that's just debris from Electro's attack. Also that shadowy figure very well could be Scorpion and not Lizard Also I think Mysterio will return as an illusion operated by his team. I hope the "real" Quentin Beck stays dead but someone else takes his place I think it would be cool to see Chameleon retconned as a rogue Skrull, which would explain him working for Fury

I think they’ll stick to Sandman being reformed if he’s in it. Seemed more like electo & sandman we’re fighting if that was them. (Side note: doesn’t sand crystallize when hit by lightning?) And maybe it won’t even be an official sinister 6 situation. I think we’re assuming that part. There’s also something we’re not talking about and it’s why Peter is in the mystical black suit when he’s running through the FEAST cafe. Maybe there’s an unknown magic user in the movie? To me, Sandman looks like he’s shielding Spiderman from Electro in the trailer. So, maybe he’s not one of the 6. Swap him out for Vulture or Scorpion to get back to 5. And I think the 6th is Mysterio. A) They make no hints at the last member. Why would you keep that a secret unless it was the bad guy who died in the last film? B) It would be a way to clear Peter’s name. Mysterio gets exposed as being alive, Peter is cleared of murder charges and then to clear him of being Spiderman, he’s seen in public out of costume with Tobie in costume.

I think Sandman is a misdirect and it is actually Mysterio using his sand elemental illusion (a criminal copycat or a true multiverse version, maybe played by a different actor). The Vulture or the Scorpion would be number 6. Two villains from each Spider-man.

Nah I think its more likely that Mysterio is recruited in the next movie, because this movie won't have an official Sinister Six, more of a makeshift Sinister Six if you will. One of the members likely dies (Lizard maybe), and thus paves the way for Mysterio. I like your theory of Mysterio as I've never heard it but highly unlikely imho, and I think Sandman will be a hero, leaving *two spots* open, being for Scorpion and Vulture. I also think if the teaser alludes to around 5 villains, than the movie will probably have more than 6 total villains, whether it be cameos and Easter eggs or small fight scenes, I think Chameleon and Kingpin will appear (especially if the Matt Murdock rumors are true)

I had the same thoughts regarding Mysterio. The scene just didn't seem correct. Also, I hope its Vulture. Why? Because it could allow for him to then betray the Sinister Six for whatever reason. Toomes is a thief, not a homicidal murderer. I honestly think that matters. I think he can see Liz in MJ. So, if he's a betrayer, what makes it a Sinister Six? Its a Mysterio all along. But you know what I really want? I want a Peter who's body jumping between spider-men in different universes. Only to be saved by Dr. Strange who causes a fissure, or uses something that he found, that starts to destabilize and allows all of them to gather. hmm, I can see how this movie can set-up Strange for multiverse of madness more and more. It could even be something that Wanda does without them understanding the source. I would love it if Strange comments on Peter's "Spell Casting" and how its too similar to magic. P.S. As I watched a teaser few days ago.in teaser van or truck scene there is an engraved the name of 'KRAVEN'...so, for me 80-90 % kraven,the hunter will be the 6th member of sinister six...in Spidey: no way home. Why would Vulture help Peter? To save you an automatic response, remember that everyone's memory of Peter being Spidey getting wiped is the entire premise of the movie. That would include Adrian Toomes as Vulture.... there is literally a higher chance that Sandman helps Spidey beat the Sinister Six especially if the villains are being pulled from the end of their respective arcs from the other films.... And if Sandman isn't a member of the Six, then that leaves *two* spots open, and I'm guessing its Vulture and Scorpion, both from Hollands universe. Mysterio would likely become a member at the end of this movie for an *official Sinister Six* , since this movie isn't it. Its more of a makeshift Sinister Six.... I also think the movie will have 1 or 2 street level thugs to beat up on before the Six start appearing/causing chaos in the city like Rhino or Shocker for small fight scenes, and cameos from guys like Chameleon and Kingpin may happen as well

You could still have a “good” Tobey Peter , one who danced to jazz or whatever, but with the multiverse you could have this introduce the alien without using Tom Hardy and Venom. Just a thought…
