The Flying Green Elf name might be a reference to the comics actually. In the Spider-Verse, there’s a version of Uncle Ben that becomes Spider-Man and his universe’s Norman Osborn is known as the Emerald Elf. By since this is the Raimiverse Goblin, it actually works even better for the name because in the video game based on the first Raimi film, Spider-Man asks if the Green Goblin is supposed to be an Emerald Elf.

Having Peter find out that the multiverse in the third movie was perfect in my opinion. In the second movie, he's told by Mysterio it is real and then finds out he lied about everything. But then he finds out in this movie the multiverse indeed is real. Peter's reaction "The multiverse is real?" was just perfect. Imagine if Mysterio survived and he was in this movie and said "Wait, the multiverse is real? Seriously?! Does that mean there are other Mysterios in other universes too?! What if I do have powers in them?!" Mysterio was originally supposed to be in this movie and fight Strange at the Statue of Liberty, so now I wonder what other kind of stuff he would have done in the movie.

Spiderverse has used it although they tried to fix it in Across and so has the MCU but it's a way to label different universes. Labeling three universes 616 and two 1610 (I know the comic one was destroyed maybe or something but still there should only be one 1610 and it's also unclear whether it was destroyed or not after secret wars 2015 because we see peter returns as spidey) just defeats the whole point of labeling universes.

No matter how you look at this situation, it’s Strange’s fault that this happened. He was actually very quick to jump the gun on performing such a spell, not taking in that Peter, despite his accomplishments, has very little real world experience and doesn’t know most of the options he has for securing his future. The first thing that he should have done was ask Peter what all options he had tried. Hell, Strange himself could have given Peter a letter of recommendation for any institution that Peter wanted, he’s still very well known in certain fields.

While Strange says "Frankly, the multiverse is a concept we know frightening little," they were originally supposed to have Multiverse of Madness take place before this movie. With that, Peter was supposed to be informed that Strange has experience "with this sort of stuff". I actually wish that happened because when Strange says at 1:37 that the villains' presence can destroy the fabric of reality, he would've been more serious than that. Strange would have explained to Peter, Ned, MJ, and the villains that he would have told them about "incursions" based on what he learned in Multiverse of Madness. Strange would tell them all that the longer the visitors are in their world, the worlds the originate from will collide into the current one and can destroy one, some or all of those worlds together. And since they were supposed to actually meet Tom Hardy's Venom in this movie before deciding to leave him in the post credit scene, Strange could've said "Since you all come from three separate worlds, that means in a matter of time those three Earths will collide into this one and all four could be destroyed unless we send you all home." Imagine how the Green Goblin would have been like if he heard all of this. Since he wanted to stay, what do you think his response would have been if he heard what Strange said?

This is how I imagine a Harry Potter version of this: An alternate Harry is teleported to a secret dungeon in Hogwarts in his own universe shortly after fighting Snape from the real movies/books and seeing Quirrell from the real movies/books Harry: Professor Dumbledore? A werewolf in one of the cells, who turns out to be a version of Lupin played by Jim Parsons from a reboot series where I imagine myself playing Harry, appears behind Harry and roars Harry: ah! Harry walks in front of Snape's cell, scaring himself even more and somebody touches Harry's shoulder behind him Harry: ah! Harry turns around and sees Dumbledore (played by Mark Hamill) Dumbledore: be careful with what you wish for Harry Snape: Let me out of here! Harry: can you please explain to me what's going on? Dumbledore: that little spell you ruined in which you wanted everybody to forget Harry Potter's existence physically started to bring people who know Harry Potter in person from other universes into this one Harry: from other universes? Snape: who are you? Where am I? Dumbledore: it's better if we don't engage with them. The wizarding multiverse is something we know so little that it's scary Harry: The wizarding multiverse is real? Dumbledore: this shouldn't be happening Harry: but I thought you stopped the spell Dumbledore: No I only contained it but it seems some people managed to squeeze through before I did. Shortly after you left I detected an other wordly thing, I followed it to the Forbidden Forest [he turns to Lupin] and I found this grey son of a wolf Snape: Multiverse? There's a wizarding multiverse? What is this? Some spell to mess up with someone's mind? Is this Albus Dumbledore? I killed Albus Dumbledore 1 year ago! Dumbledore: [to Harry] watch this. [To Snape] Do you know someone called Harry Potter in person? Snape: yes Dumbledore: Is that him? Snape: No Dumbledore: see? Ok this is what we're gonna do. I don't know how many of those visitors we got but… Harry: I saw another one on the bridge. I think he was Asian because he was wearing a turban on his head Dumbledore: he sounds like an Indian person. Why don't you start with him? I need you to bring them here so I can figure out how to send them back to their universes before they expose the wizarding world to the Muggle world and destroy the fabric of reality or worse: McGonagall finds out Harry: Professor Dumbledore? Dumbledore: What? Harry: I just got a 2nd chance to work at the Ministry of Magic and if they see me fighting those monsters… Snape: Hey watch your mouth you insolent boy! Harry: sorry! Dumbledore: are you seriously still with the Ministry of Magic thing…? Celdus teletransportus! Dumbledore teleports Harry to a cell Harry: Hey you can't do…! Harry knocks his head with the cell Snape: How did you do that? Dumbledore: this is a spell to mess up with someone's mind Dumbledore opens Harry's cell Dumbledore: you throw a spell called "celdus teletransportus", you teleport them, you're welcome. Go to work Harry: Professor Dumbledore? Dumbledore: now what? Harry: I know this is my fault and I'll solve it but I'm gonna need help Dumbledore: ok Dumbledore goes to find Hermione and Ron

Oh, I see. So this Harry Potter wants to make everyone in the Wizarding World who knew him in person or know him personally forget him.

@@jaredruff9823 yeah. This was the easiest option I could think of. Since Harry isn't a superhero it's kind of hard to think of a spell about him

What makes this scene interesting is how despite it being a comedic exposition scene, it actually hides a dark secret. On the surface, it explains the multiverse while largely played a bit for laughs. It has a "oh what did those silly boys do this time?" vibe to it. Yet, we don't really know what's truly going on. Then you realize later that they are all about to die in their universes, well minus Sandman and Lizard but still. It's dark and heavy. It really makes you wonder if Doctor Strange really knew the truth of their fates but didn't want Peter to know about it?
