I think one of the most under appreciated parts of this film is how the suit, the lighting and the performance all play into this being a genuinely scary version of Spiderman. The suit looks terrifying, especially in low lighting and the way he casually and playfully taunts the car thief like it's no big deal for him, all the while being one step ahead of him almost makes it seem as he isn't human, and the car thief is powerless against him. If u were a criminal in now york city and u encountered this version of Spiderman, u would be terrified. Also the fear factor and slender, almost inhuman appearance of this Spiderman remind me a lot of Steve Ditko's depiction of Spiderman in Amazing Fantasy 15, which was meant to be scary for the reader, taking most of it's inspiration from horror comics.

This clip really shows something that isn't often shown in other spider-man movies and that is his pure reflexes and speed. When the cop starts shooting at him, you can see him dodge the bullets and move out of the path of bullets in extremely fast movements -- not quite at the level of a speedster but definitely far faster than an ordinary man. That is something I really like about this scene because we never really get a chance to see just how fast Spider-man's reflexes are in other movies. Again, he's got nothing on Barry Allen but he's far, far faster than any other typical superhero. He's up there slowly approaching superman in terms of reflexes and speeds.

@@harveypotter8749 Spiderman is strong enough to lift between 100 and 200 tons. Just to round things off, let's be really generous and say he can lift 100,000 kilograms. That's a one shot, highly motivated feat of strength. His normal strength is closer to 50,000 kilograms (which he normally reigns in to normal human olympic athelete strength range unless facing foes who have superhuman durability.) Superman has held up 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kg for more than a day. His "feat" of strength 1 shot would be higher. And that's canon superman. Car thiefs are using something similar with newer cars, not identical but in a shape of a briefcase that acts as a signal booster to your key, it boosts the range of the car key to something around 40-50m so when you're parked in front of your house this device makes your car act like you're standing next to it and then like you're inside of it so the thiefs just ride off like it's their car. @SunlightGwyn2 жыл бұрын
He isn’t nearly the best Spider-Man. He got one aspect of the character correct, the jokes. But he didn’t portray how important responsibility is to Spider-Man or the Peter Parker role quite like Tobey did. It’s not all Andrew’s fault, the writing, costume design and dark cinematography were also reasons why the Amazing Spider-Man movies weren’t good. Tom failed at the same aspects of the character, Peter Parker and the responsibility angle. But his movies benefited from better cinematography, writing and costume design. Only Tobey’s Spider-Man nailed every aspect of Spider-Man. Great cinematography, great writing, great costume design, great portrayal of Peter Parker (and how smart he was) and the main theme of the Raimi movies was responsibility.

Tom is a solid all rounder. Imo, he's held back a bit by the MCU formula. It's harder for Tom to develop the intimate elements of the character considering all the MCU bombast that surrounds him. Tobey hit those intimate elements out of the park as the best Peter by far. His films were really Peter Parker movies with Spiderman as a supporting character Andrews Spiderman scenes were the best portrayals of the webslinger, but the Peter character suffered from a bloated web of subplots and the angsty material he was made to work with. That chemistry with Emma Stone tho, damn. . .

I have always said Toby played a great full on Peter Parker showing the emotional stress and dorky nature of the character, and Andrew did a great full on Spider-man showing the cocky witty/sarcastic attitude but still responsible enough to not cross the line and do whats right, and Tom is doing a great job so far of balancing the two personas to lesser degrees and make it feel like a whole character living a double life.
