I haven't read it, but I'm aware that there was a Spiderman PSA against teen pregnancy in the late 70's with art by Ross Andru who was regular artist at the time. The plot was something like an alien tricking teens into having babies.

I have two copies of that book. It's actually titled, "The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Prodigy!" and it's from 1976. It was done in cooperation with Planned Parenthood and one-million copies were printed. ONE-MILLION!

I remember an episode where Peter Parker downs a handful of Tylenol while explaining to Mary Jane that he can't do drugs, cause he's a superhero and drugs are bad, so he has to take handfuls of Tylenol to help his pain after his battles with super villains. The thing is, Tylenol is incredibly bad for you at high doses. They should have done a follow-up where Spider-Man is dying from liver failure.

Oh, shit! I remember reading this in the pages of Boy’s Life (the Boy Scout magazine) in grade school. It was the first ‘modern’ Spidey comic I’d read and I was blown away by the artwork. Even then I knew it was hokey, but I was just glad to have a genuine superhero comic instead of just Webelow Woodie and The Adventures of Pedro. Also. I haven’t tried pot, so I guess it worked...?
