One of my favorite things in Web of shadows is when someone pointed out something to me. In early game, Symbiote was WAY more powerful gameplay wise in ground combat but Red suit was better in aerial combat. This way, you use both suits equally like Peter is knowing how the black suit is bad for him. As the story goes on however and you upgrade both suits, the symbiote suit just gets BETTER at both styles of combat. This means that we the player are subconsciously getting attached to the symbiote suit as it just gets the job done way more effeciently and we start getting attached to it the way Peter probably did. By the time we have to get rid of the black suit (if you did), we probably feel like we lost a BIG part of our arsenal and feel underpowered the same way the characters do. I LOVE that and thought this was one of the best ways of showing story through gameplay

The spider tokens just increase health and swing speed as said in the description of them in the stats submenu in the upgrades menu. It may increase strength but health and swing speed are the main two stats.

I really wish they incorporated this stylistic webbing for the next gen spider-man games, its really incredible to see how the strains spin out & floats before it zips straight, i also love the detail how the ends of it comes out of his grip as he swings, In comparison it makes the the Ps4 version look too perfect & have a lack of eye candy

From what I understand, the two actually canon black suit choice in the game are the Black Cat options, with the true canon ending being the red suit ending where Peter is alone and Mary Jane has apparently stopped talking to him.

@@Kuzamer I’d use the word ambitious. I remember being mind blown with the amount of stuff you can pull off in the game. After doing stuff a while in any game it can get repetitive. Look at Spider-Man for PS4/PS5. Simple combat and limited ways to swing around. But I still have tons of fun with both

@@BigRenzEnt Well, Spider-Man PS4 at least has a lot of stuff to do despite it being a bit more simple in its mechanics. This game is just a glorified beat em up. The open world is kinda pointless unless you're in the crowd for those who think swinging is the only real important aspect of a Spider-Man game. With the game being so focused on just swinging and attacking, I can't really call it ambitious. It focused on two things and did those two things well. My problem is how everything else either feels underwhelming or tacked on.

I think Spiderman web of shadows was successful where most other Spiderman games failed ,to create that apocalyptic theme at the end ,like when you play the symbiote invasion part you get the apocalypse vibe which other games try to create but for some reason ( maybe too many villains) fail , I played this game many times ,I loved this game as a child ,when I was 7yo ,this was what I used to do when I came back from school , it's graphics are definitely not the best that place is for Spider man PS4 but this game really stand out at a few points overall I do agree with you ,this game is amazing ,it genuinely gives the "pleasure" of playing the game ,which again is the main purpose of a game Edit : Venomzilla at the end was terrifying to play against like I still remember , I got jumpscares when I reached the final fight

@@Wayneisboss If I can give my own two cents on this, I honestly feel like she works much better as that type of character just because of how much more independent she feels. I'm not sure if this makes sense to anyone but myself but it feels like Black Cat as a character relies way too heavily on Spidey to even stand on her own. Catwoman can absolutely stand on her own as a character, without Batman needing to be around. That could just be my perception of both of them though.

@@ComicKino Honestly, based on what I know about Catwoman, I agree. I think I like Catwoman more because she also doesn't feel ad forced as Black Cat often does. Like Black Cat is a dramatic plot device but Selena Kyle is a proper character

seriously ps5 spiderman 2 needs to take implements from web of shadows in terms of how strict powerful and hard they went on their combat and swinging and a lil implements of arkham city and put in the wos red and black suit, along with ps1 2000s suit, animated series red and black suits, and mcfarlane and mark bagley suits and you have the best spiderman game ever. seriously they need to study wos hardcore coz i can tell from the trailer the combat and unique off the wall style isnt there as good as it should be. their heart of the story is god tier but they really need to up their game and pay attention to web of shadows if they wanna make this game 2wice as good as the 1st game and 2wice as good as wos can you guys help me reach out to insomniac, do any of yall know anything that can help me get their ideas to them. i knoe they love to please the fans and they are the type to actually listen to what we want

oh good, I'm not the only one who thinks they overused the webstrike. Although its why I've only played the game through twice. I felt the combat got too tedious when 90% of it was just webstriking. Although now that I think about it, that may be partially due to the fact I had the wii version so everything from combos, to webswinging, to qtes was executed via waggle tech.

during the missions they rely a lot on web strikes but if you think about it it's really not that much ... the attack can actually be made repetitive depending on the player if you only use the web strike as a connector between combos and only from time to time or when you get frustrated use the full extent of the web strike, you will get a pretty much variate and non- repetitive gameplay also don't forget that there are three variations of the web strike and each lead to different combos web strike is mainly an opener for the fight and not the fight itself.

This game is not perfect (I mean what game is right?), but it had a lot of good ideas, except the choice system. Unlike InFamous, the choice system between good and bad wasn't implemented well, but the game has a pretty interesting story, the gameplay looks fun as hell, the switching between black and classic suit was very well put down and they added wall combat in a Spider-Man game, which is something I feel not a lot of Spider-Man games do. Not to mention meeting other Marvel characters like Wolverine, Black Cat, Kingping, Luke Cage and Moonnight was also really great. I am currently waiting for my copy to show up in the mail, because I never had the chance to play this game and the online price for this game is ridicolous to say the least.

I went to my local game store last night and they had 2 copies one for 20$ and one for 35$ and Since it was Black Friday they said they would take a few dollars off of it and they couldn’t find the disc in the back at that moment so they grabbed the 35$ copy and gave it to me for 20$ with tax than the found the disc to the 20$ copy 😂 but getting it for 20$ is honestly a steal .

Beyond that, Sony sees a lot of value is securing exclusives since it's gonna be one of the biggest factors in selling consoles these days especially when the graphical and performance differences between platforms are less and less noticeable these days. Securing exclusives is only going to become more crucial for Sony and Microsoft as we reach the graphical and mechanical threshold

I gotta be honest, I really wasn't a big fan of this version of the game. The dialogue was pretty terrible, the voice acting (especially Peter) was really mediocre, the side missions are RIDICULOUSLY repetitive to the point of nauseum, the story is actually really short and the inclusion of Wolverine felt so incredibly forced that it was just literally fan service. Daredevil would have been better and make a lot more sense. The combat is fantastic but overall I just wasn't feeling this one much. Now the DS version by developer Griptonite Games? Absolutely LOVED it. Fantastic 2.5D Metroidvania with the same set up in story but different scenarios, choices to make & different characters that appear throughout the game. I actually enjoyed the PS2/PSP version as well from developer Amaze Entertainment. Solid 2.5D level based action platformer.
