I moved my family to Alaska in the late '90s (and I'm still here), so seeing the Simpsons Movie and their translocation to Alaska is kind of nostalgic. The whole PFD (where they give you money annually for living in Alaska) is real. Generally it has been between $1000 to $3000 per person (all ages even children) who have lived a full calendar year in Alaska (with certain allowances made for travel outside of Alaska for a limited number of days).

My eyes caught sight of a huge container of what I thought were cheeseballs. They were, but they were for the 3 dogs he had. Yes, you actually can get paid to move to Alaska, now sometimes over 3K depending.
