Proverbs 30:28 The 🕷️ Spider taketh hold with her hands and is kings' palaces. King James Version of The Bible. What it means to me? The Spider is a blessed creature of God. They carry NO disease communicable to Mankind, yet devours mosquitos, roaches, flies, rats and mice among other pests that can potentially kill or harm people and property, so they are a welcomed addition to any household. Plus, Spiders are focused on living the way they're supposed to do we as people are supposed to keep our faith in The Lord, because without God, we would be nothing and without Jesus, there is no Salvation! That's what I 🤔 think. Still, no matter what others choose to believe, Spiders are NOT 🚫 Evil and are quite beautiful little animals.

I've been working on my arachnophobia for years. I used to be freaked out by the smallest of arachnids, now I'm okay with the occasional bigger false widows that start dangling from the ceiling as soon as I turn off the lights (freak behaviour honestly) but just now I saw either a giant house spider or a cardinal and it was bigger than 10cm and I can't sleep. seeing you handle them freaked me out and calmed down at the same time. it's always good to know more about these creatures.

A lot of people actually don`t believe me this. I have arachnophobia. I can control it a bit. It`s not that bad. But, like a lot of those folks, I also don`t appreciate this spider inside my home. However, in our shed, where we got two horses, I saw one in the water bucket. I thought it is dead. I lifted it out and suddenly she began to move. There I said, damn it, I`m gonna rescue her. That`s what I did. Took her out with a broomstick and put her on the wall where she disappeared. I`m glad that I did it. Feels good.

I have a horse too and am at the stables a lot. I see these things everywhere and don't give a damn f*ck about them being there. One even had put its net under my horse's automatic waterer and I didn't care, I cleaned the bowl like nothing was wrong. But at home they make me anxious and I need to have them relocated by someone. Don't know why they scare me so much at home. Maybe because I've got nowhere to run in case it gets too close to me.

I'm a recovering arachnophobe and videos like this have helped me a ton. I hope to some day handle a giant house spider like you do in this video. So far the largest spider I have handled was a flat one about the size of a coin that wandered in through my window. Every time I handle a spider, I feel a lot less afraid of other spiders the same size, so now the game is just to work up to the biggest one I can manage.
@keihan5

I find that a good starting point for most people who are afraid of spiders is to capture, house and take care of a jumping spider. Since they are cuter, have less spindly legs and appear to have an engaging and curious disposition, most people (even arachniphobes) are generally less fearful of them. And caring for one while you observe them is therapeutic! Just be careful handling them so as to not injure them, they are delicate and fast! LOL

Coolest spider. Excellent at running, poor at hiding. When I see one, I make sure it is not in a place where someone might accidentally hurt it. Last year I helped a particularly gorgeous one out of the sink. They are so calm and well-behaved.

I had a house spider who live in my old bedroom of a farm house, made a nice thick nest across 2 wooden beams on the low ceiling and would tuck away in a little crack in one of the beams, he would chill on the web often I’d see him everyday for 2 years, he caught so many bugs. I’m pretty certain he recognised me as i go near him and speak to him😂 He was there until the day I moved out, miss you Trevor.

@@gregsalisbury9783 HA ! Thank you Greg : I mixed up with his brother Richard who passed away in 2014, and whom I did not know of !!! It is strange because I recall that when this was announced at that time (so probably in 2014), I thought to myself : what a great shame he died. I was certainly not listening correctly to what was said, because I really thought, at the time, that it was the naturalist who had died. I checked : sir David is still around and is now 95. Thanks for your comment. I have just found out that Sir David Attenborough showed interest in insects and animals already very young in his existence. The same for me : I collected insects and spiders at the age of 3 in the garden and my mother stopped me from collecting spiders (I then had spider phobia, but NEVER killed any), because she was afraid that they would sting me. Unfortunately, I do not have the scientific level and high grade of Mr Attenborough, but I very much like his personality in general and find very pleasant to listen to his broadcasts. He is very "érudit" and is très plaisant (pleasant) to listen to. Thanks.

I don’t want them to die in the cold so I just leave them be. Most of the time they run away hiding when humans enter the room so why should I bother. If you don’t have any bugs they will leave voluntarily, too, so one more reason to just leave them be. But five yrs ago this would have been a huge problem, I used to be afraid (don’t calling it a phobia tho) of most spiders as well. I had to reprogram my brain with videos like this! Great work!

I'm trying to lessen my arachnophobia, and while I never like killing spiders I find it really hard to cohabit with these larger fellas, so finding vids like yours where someone's handling them (while the spider calmly wanders about their hands) with narration and jaunty music is really helping.

I just wish they cooperated more. Like, sat there calmly while I catch & relocate them instead of freaking out and darting under furniture and stuff. They're frustrating to interact with. I wouldn't be half as scared of them as I am if they just acted calmer. How am I supposed to relax around them if they're so jerky and jumpy? Come on, spiders, get a grip. ;P

Hahaha I agree, have to say I was wondering how cooperative this one was going to be, luckily he was pretty chilled out! I suppose we would both be a little jumpy if we were sat in a giants hand :D but, I know it can be unnerving. I would just say to anyone who's not comfortable handling them directly to use a cup or something. Nice one for relocating them!

I was going to comment on the high production values and how natural you are as a presenter and narrator, and the fact that you should be on TV, but many other viewers have said it already in the comments. I think the only reason you have so few subscribers is that the KZbin algorithm focusses on and rewards regular uploaders who can make them more money with ads. That shows how broken KZbin really is. Anyway, great work Thomas! I'm currently enjoying your excellent pond surface tension video!

I let my spiders stay, they are welcome to keep down pests that make noise (flies) and bite (mosquitos)! But I leant over yesterday and came directly eye to eye with a massive specimen of one of these guys. Now, I'm not an arachnophobe, I can handle them happily, but for that split second, I may as well have been staring down the throat of Lion. It surprised me as much as anything, but the pure size of that guy unnerved me too, there are one or two species of spider that I just won't allow to stay near the busy parts of my house. That one in particular was chucked over the back fence, I just hope there was no one on the other side...

His channel is called "Dark Den" and he has hundreds of different creepy crawlies including many different species of tarantula. First step when you see a spider is to name it, Fred (male) and Fredweena (female) works for me for all spideys, once you've done this start talking to them, they all have a personality much like humans and experience pain, happiness, joy and sadness. I learned a lot on that channel including how to differentiate between male and females. I'm now of the mindset, just let them be so they can do their job.

I'm not quite ready to pick one up so I use a container to catch them if I need to move them. All I see in my home are yellow sac spiders at night and cute little zebra jumping spiders in the day. I like these big house spiders but they disappear if I spot one inside or unfortunately found dead on cob webs out on my balcony when I release them. I never kill any bugs, they all have their purpose.

I have arachnophobia, but I can force myself to rehome spiders (not those spindly fucks, they're cool). My dad's house which I grew up in is Georgian. Spiders would make a spitter-spatter sound across the floor, we would get larger spides due to the nature of the house build and the cavaties in the walls. I only have a phobia due to a single vivid memory of going up the curved stairs to be greeted with a spider which I remember as being as big as the step itself (roughly a foot long, which clearly isn't true). Thinking about my "fear" I figured it's anxiety and paranoia, not a true fear, since I don't care for spiders when I know of their locations, I only hate the "suprise" spiders and "phantom webs". I suspect this is the same with 90% of sufferers.

Knowing that makes it hard to want to approach a house spider because It could be a recluse. I'm too scared to approach anything that resembles the Recluse. Spider silk is a wonder of science, it has antiseptic properties, it has a static charge and is as strong as Steele if not stronger! Spiders are natures pest controllers, I know they look scary, but do you want flies bussing around, or the occasional big spider? Spider eat things we don't want, they are cleaners and they are clean animals too! I love feeding them blue bottles I catch on the windows! Love them or hate them, you have to admit their wonderful arachnids! I never hurt or kill spider on purpose. sometime I accidently kill them when I haven't seen them and I feal awful. I wont pick them up with my hands but I will move them safley to a place they can wonder around unharmed! I have the same problem. I don’t like the idea of harming Spiders, but the fear kicks in and I have to get rid of them. I can’t have medium or large house spiders in my bedroom or bathroom. I can’t get close enough to do the cup and paper method, but the Spider/Insect hoovers are great for small and medium sized one. You can keep a safe enough distance and it doesn’t injure the spider. They might be scared of the motor, but the alternative would be worse. I’m desperate to get my phobia cured and find videos like this help.

Hi TTIWI! Well the house spiders are pretty characteristic! But wolf spiders, and nursery web spiders look similar and could find a way into your house. More likely if it’s not a house spider it will be a false widow of some kind. There are a few species and although the news would like you to think they’re dangerous, they’re not any more so than other spiders! I’ve picked them up before! The bites you see are usually because of a bacterial infection from scratching rather than the spiders. Hope that helps!

Oui, c'est une tégénaire ! I do not take them in hands, but free them into my garden when they enter because of the rain. I have Pholcus for inside and leave them in peace because they are static spiders that scarcely move (and so you seldom risk to have them walking on you, which would scare me) and, the Pholcus is the BEST hunter because it eats all other spiders, including tegenaria (unfortunately, because I like tégénaire) and all sorts of insects. Pholcus is not pretty like tégénaire, but very "redoutable" for a hunter, in spite of its size and legs of the size of a hair ! Do you know the Pholcus ? And yes : your video sounds very professional and you chose a very good music for it !

They turn like mad in their web when they feel something. I have to admit I have them all over in my living room. It is very hot here in France and there are insects coming in when we have a little rain.
