Disagree on the Getz comment. JR is the biggest problem and it’s not close. I do think maybe new ownership(if) will give Getz a shot. I saw on the Althetic they do have bad reputation. It said,”unlike other bad teams, they have the potential to be good”. This quote alone is why JR is the main villain.

They don't have to pay them is what they got. In diminishing fan base baseball, the single team Brewers are more valuable and profitable than the Sox. The Sox or more likely to build a new stadium in another city then here, and how will that work out in an area without a baseball tradition or like Chicago too many choices and they pass on the new/bad team. How are those Florida moves working in an area with a baseball tradition with players, spring training, player development for years before the teams came.

On the surface, looks like a one sided ankle grabber for the Sox. Vargas's underwhelming MLB stats at least are way better than Benintendi's, so stick him in Left. If this trade news had come with an announcement that Pedro had been fired I'd feel a little better about it. But barring that, looks to me like the Cards got themselves a pretty good pitcher, and the Sox got a wish ticket and a handful of hope.

Worst organization and ownership in all of sports. Jerry has ruined the Bulls and the White Sox. Won the lottery with Jordan and caught lightning in a bottle in 05 with the Sox. ZERO before and since from both teams. It's laughable. And yes, I want them to go down in history as being the worst team in the long, long history of baseball. No team is more deserving. We ALL knew the Getz hire was a joke. That is where they lost me. If they had made a real effort to get a qualified GM I would probably still be with them and suffering through this. The Getz pick ended that. Fan since 1982 so I've made it through a lot of bad teams but I can't support this owner any longer. I just can't.

One of them is, both are in the top 25 of their system, and both are teenagers with great plate discipline (something the Sox have zero of in their farm right now). Both those guys will move up the rankings within the next year.

"Just stay quiet" and let the team you are traded to pitch you as much as they feel they need to in order to win the World Series? He pitched 0 innings in 2022 and 12 in 2023. There's a real risk of major injury if he throws too much this season. Crochet was damn smart to protect himself.
