From AdWeek this behind the scenes of Spike Jonze’s Apple Ad for HomePod is as fascinating as the film Itself. Incredible to see how much of this short film composition uses real set designs with moving parts, compression hydraulics and analogue movements with only limited VFX. And choreography, wow!

eh... the device you're using to access the internet is probably made by "MODERN DAY slave owners" too, whether it be the device itself or the raw materials used in manufacturing the said device. Get your facts straight first. Either way, Apple themselves didn't slave anyone. It's the fact that Foxconn offered their services cheap and taking advantage of people. Hate Foxconn, not Spike Jonze you tinfoil wearing wrong grammar too much swearing dumbass. don't start an argument if your argument isn't even related. sit down and shut up, you fake woke ass fool.

Woooow I've been waiting for this. I was so blown away by seeing Spike working w Ryan Heffington again, and seeing FKA Twigs involved too... GENIUS!!! I've been debating with my other film friends about whether it was all practical or if it involved CGI. As a huge Jonze fan I had a feeling like as a director he'd prefer to do this all practical, but wasn't sure how certain things could be done so perfectly without CGI. So great to see they pulled off the dream. As a young director myself, it's these sort of projects that inspire me to push the limits and explore new techniques in the medium. So great *It was also cool to see that she had a movement coach on top of a choreographer. Can definitely see how it brought her dancing to a whole other level of nuance and style. Her dance work in her own videos and concerts is already so great, but this had wonderful emotion and detail that every time I watched this it really blew me away how much more depth she had in this performance.

She has a racial ambiguity to her it's understandable why they would cast her for commercials. It seems the norm nowadays to have someone who could be African could be Caucasian or could be Spanish. Remember the 80s when companies would shoot multiple different commercials with multiple different races just to Target those specific demographics? Amazing use of practical effects Spike was on point with this one and that mofo can dance too ha!

Just the sheer effort put into a short 4 minute video makes this hands down one of the best productions of our time. It reminds me of Jamiroquai’s Virtual Insanity video where the entire set moves but of course this video takes that concept to a Whole Other Level! This is basically that concept on Steroids!
