James Dreyfus is a brilliant talented bloke. Hope we get to enjoy his talent for a long time in the future. Television in particular is in desperate need of talent like his.

Actually ten years ago is when this new wave of political correctness really got going. That's the year I found myself in a bad situation (I was a support worker for 20 years before that) when the terminology became more real than the reality. Cover ups and faking documents etc began in earnest after the 2008 crash. The then Labour government began cutting standards of care whilst devising cool ways to make it seem like actually we were improving. OK, that does happen anyway but this was in hyperdrive. When I began questioning and frankly opposing this terminological double speak I was OUT, set up and bosh, gone, career (vocation really) over! Political Correctness is all lies, from the fake intellectualism, the caring sharing tolerance, anti racism and all the rest. The people into it mostly know this too. It is destructiveness encapsulated and these people believe that destruction is necessary for creation. As the acorn is obliterated when the seedling pops out of it, so then must people and societies be destroyed for utopia to be born. Idiots!

Absolutely agree the the Blair government invented box ticking.In the Mental health field it became more important than actually talking to patients and addressing their problems.So interviews were based on endless forms which took up valuable time.It spread to every endeavour wether in commerce,education,medicine or the arts.
@abstractacus15984 жыл бұрын
@@merxeddie6474 @Merx Eddie Indeed.. I remember finding my manager filling in all my tick boxes which I'd refused to do. I said, that work was never done cos you said we can't afford to do it anymore (recreational work like swimming, cinema etc). I wouldn't sign those forms, I think he signed my name in the end but I was suspended by then. Inspectors also didn't speak to the people even when I asked them to pick someone at random so they can hear what we do from the horses mouth. No, they just looked at the paper work. They called those forms evidence of work done but I called it what it was FRAUD. I flagged it all up but no one listened. Independent living became a bit like the lockdowns today with the illusion of independence only. People suffered, maybe they still are. But yeah that's PC, all fakery. Don't comply, lose your job and can't get another. later, more important people got what I got but they were saying nothing when workers like me were being purged. Only when it got to them did they start to see it.. I wonder how many people have now been set up and purged? Must be many thousands, hundreds of thousands perhaps and it will grow and grow and grow. Maybe that's what will eventually bring this fabricated rubbish down through sheer weight of numbers, who knows, we live in hope...

In 1997 I was dragged by a friend to see Julius Caesar at the Birmingham Rep. I wasn't keen as the title role was played by Michael Cashman, who is only ever wooden at his best. I didn't find out until it started that James was playing Cassius. He easily overcame any prejudices, not to mention the tediously predictable anachronistic staging, to deliver a stunning performance - easily one of my all-time favourite theatre experiences. I already loved him, but he soared in my estimation after that, and it was later thrilling to discover how sound he is politically/culturally.

This was such a nourishing broadcast to listen to.....I don't have a great deal of patience for actors at the best of times, but less now after listening to this. The idea of a sector of students putting a petition to an academic institution is preposterous. Petitions are for citizens and Parliament and the right and process is protected by constitutional law. Unless a body at inception has a petition and its submission in its constitution, if indeed it has one, there is no basis for presenting one. Universities, when they had progressive intellectuals, would be a litmus paper for the times. Now, they are a bastion for the disaffected - with far too many students studying useless degrees inevitably ending up working at Wetherspoons. I love Dreyfus.....he is reminiscent of the personalities hanging around Soho in the 60s and 70s.

It's not in the least bit absurd to accuse Rada of white supremacy. Whiteness is the way European people live, together with an appreciation of our history and culture, and white supremacy is the perpetuation of that way of life, history and culture in a multicultural society. Rada literally imposes whiteness "on people of colour". That is white supremacy and there is no way to end it without either "decolonising" Britain, as the students demand, or decolonising Britain, as rational British people are increasingly going to demand as this nonsense progresses.
@karenmercer87854 жыл бұрын
Well, the last time Britain was colonized was 4000 years ago by Neolithic farmers from Anatolia. Should be fun feeding millions on a hunter-garherer diet after it's "decolonized".
@shaunpatrick83454 жыл бұрын
@@karenmercer8785 those are the people they want to get rid of, but the colonisers doing that have been here for a lot less than 4000 years. Did you see the new 50p coin? A coloniser designed it, a coloniser introduced it, and the coin itself contains a pro-colonisation lie about the native population, putting the colonisers at the heart of the history of the country. When they talk of "decolonisation" you need to take them at their word; use of that word to analyse what they are doing is the only way to make sense of current events.
