That Little Red CF7 No.50 at Chattanooga was nice to to see again. At Gt. Plains, Wichita, for once it was not the WAMX Loco's exhaust that were responsible for the smokescreen. Most of all at Chehalis, BNSF SD70MAC 9687 - OTP and fantastic to see, thanks VRF.

4:38 That blue and pink color scheme on the locomotive looks like the old Florida East Coast (FEC) color scheme, the old 4-axle locomotives, still in use today.
@kennethhanks671210 ай бұрын
If you are referencing the lead loco at 4:38 the picture quality is masking its true colors! That is the paint scheme used on the original EMD SD70 AC electrical loco fleet (believe it was 3 or 4 hundred strong) to BN when they really ramping up the production of the Powder River Basin coal field and is still in its original (I think) scheme. The locos were given a special new paint scheme of a VERY dark green (just about what the classic KCS scheme has that looks black but isn't) and a "creme" (not white) color. If I recall the green was referred to as "Grindstein Green" after the BN president at the time.

I guess I underestimated just how much of a mess the K&O can make when I said a few weeks ago that they need to file an environmental impact statement when they run their Old Smokey engine but this is ridiculous. Maybe the K&O is the Pig Pen Line??
@frankrosenbaum347110 ай бұрын
It looked to me that something was coming out of the hopper, not the engine.
@bigjimslade625010 ай бұрын
@@frankrosenbaum3471 Yes it was coming from the top of the grain car pulled by one of the K&O diesels. But I don’t think it was Old Smokey on this run as Old Smokey smokes almost as bad as the hopper car leaked its material. I’ve watched coal trains nearly all my life & they don’t make this kind of mess. It seems to indicate a lack of attention to the equipment or cargo.

It was grain spilled on the top of the hopper that was getting blown away
