I just want to apologise for the poor sound on this video, I have been testing microphones to use in my videos and so far I haven’t found one that works. I had to send this video to be sound corrected because I didn’t want to have to refilm this because I don’t feel I’ve ever spoken this candidly about myself, my life and everything in between before and I think refilling would have lost that. So I have done my best and lots of people have worked hard to make good of this video, so I really hope you enjoy it as much as you can and Please know that I am doing my best to find a good microphone. xx

I totally get the baby question! It is rude and presumptuous, and also has such potential to be hurtful if someone is unable to have kids. We were married for 9 years before we decided to have kids, luckily I fell pregnant quickly once we decided to go ahead, but we had put up with that question for 9 bloody years! Also, once I had had my son they only start flipping asking when you're having another one! I have never asked anyone that question, and never would!

We did IVF to get our son, and I have been very open about that. So when I think about it not ONE person has asked us about baby number two. Even my mum has accepted and started saying that my son is her last grandchild 😂 Because I really don't want anymore children, I have one and thats by far enough for me.

You should be praised for being so open and comfortable about not wanting children (possibly ever). Becoming a parent is not an easy choice and it is definitely not something any woman should feel forced to do or feel ashamed not wanting to. Women are much more than just potential mothers.

The baby question is the most invasive, rude question. I can’t have children, want them desperately, and have been told countless times that I my ‘eggs will dry up’ if I don’t have them soon, that I ‘don’t know what love is’ because I haven’t got children, and that I am somehow half a person without them. I never ask the question of others and agree with everything you said. Loved it.

I'm Dyslexic and ADHD! I used to write completely mirror image as a little girl, and my mom homeschooled me during the early years to teach me to write because she was worried about my success. I also do the weird letter swapping thing and skipping letters or symbols, which made math a really difficult thing. I ended up taking the highest levels of math you could take in high school, finished my bachelors with the highest honours that can be received, and am about to graduate with a masters of science next week :) If anyone out there struggles with Dyslexia, ADHD, or similar, you're going to be okay.

My life changed as i found the answer to all the questions. I wasnt different anymore instead i see my self as special. I work as a lawyer and since that day i found out what happiness and acceptance means.

Probably a little dangerous for the company I work for (they don't know) and the public, considering all the responsibility I'm accountable for 😂😂😂 I just thought I'd spill a little tea about myself too as a fellow dyslexic! Edit: I've never told anyone about my disability, aside from my sister. The only reason she knows is because she was my math tutor; I always made mistakes when it came to reading numbers

Literally every single time I have a burst of motivation to be productive, you post a video! and I love your videos so much that I, obviously, have to stop whatever I'm doing and watch it right there! and I just want to say how much I appreciate your answer to the question on when you and Ali are having kids. As soon as I got married, people started asking those questions. And unbeknownst to them, I was having marital problems for the last three of the four years of being married. Because we struggled for so many years, we really needed to figure out whether or not we were going to last before bringing kids into it. My husband and I just filed for divorce. And I know people seem to think that asking when you were going to have kids is an innocent question, but they really don't understand how much it can hurt someone. We both really wanted to have kids, but we also knew that our marriage probably wasn't going to last despite three years of fighting to make it work. You never know the reason for why someone isn't having kids. especially with the amount of people out there that are struggling with infertility... I feel like we're at a point where we should just know better than to ask. So thank you so much for addressing that question as eloquently as you did. It's absolutely something that needs to be said again and again until we stop!

Well done on the baby question. I’m 47 and people are still asking. LOL. I, like you, wasn’t sure if I wanted children and felt strange saying it out loud but sometime in my 30s I knew for sure it was not for me and luckily my husband felt the same so we opted for not. And there’s nothing wrong with that. You do you. And everyone else can mind their own damn business. ♥️

I know a woman who didn't want to have kids until she turned 53 and she had one at that time, perhaps this is why people are still asking you haha. Seriously, so rude! I'm single and people ask me that question at least once a week... together with the marriage question.

Hi Lydia, You have inspired me so much this year. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November last year and the last 10 months have been surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. I am in recovery now and am going back to work next week. Watching you has given me positivity, happiness and laughter (you are so funny 😂) I really enjoy watching your beauty routines and have invested in a By Terry mascara and Nars duo blush and love them. Please can you suggest an everyday lightweight foundation for work that doesn’t clog? Thank you for sharing your stories, you are so uplifting and just a classy, beautiful lady xox
@KarinaSwan6 жыл бұрын
Hello, I randomly noticed your comment and I hope you don't mind if I give you an answer about foundation. I don't like heavy foundation and I have used Dior and Chanel ones. Just ask the sales person to give you the lightweight, non oily formula. it's smooth and barely felt on skin. It never clogged pores, although you still have to make sure you cleanse your skin well, because this may lead to clogged pores no matter what you use. Better yet, maybe go for bare minerals (I heard good things) or something of this sort. Their products are natural so it's lightweight and easy to remove.

I'm not a maternal person, and I had a much younger sibling who kind of gave me a first-hand encounter with young children. I've been married for over four years, with my partner for just shy of a decade, and only now do I feel like I might want to have our kids. I don't want kids, I want OUR kids, and I think there's a huge difference. In the end, I think the most important thing is that you have a child when it is wanted, not when it is expected. Totally agree it's a rude question though, my parents struggled for 12 years to get pregnant and then had a pregnancy where they knew the baby was going to be stillborn but carried it to term anyway. Imagine being asked, when are you due, is it a boy or a girl, all these intrusive questions. To me, becoming a parent (deciding to have kids, being pregnant) is a medical decision, and I think couples should have complete privacy in those things. If someone wants to share, or wants to talk about it, or is happy, they'll speak up and invite you into the conversation :) If not, keep your mouth shut!

I've recently unsubscribed from MANY channels because I'm on a journey to stop buying fast fashion, so I had to unfollow them. I also find that many youtubers are only making videos to make money, not enjoying it anymore and most of all making a fool of their subscribers by advertising and selling things they would never personally use (in this case I'm talking about a person in particular that portrays herself as someone who only uses natural and organic products and then made and sold really nasty products). At first I thought you were one of those, but eventually I realized that you only advirtise products that you normally use. I also like the fact that you don't buy a HUGE amount of clothes and look for quality, and most of all that you wear and wear the clothes that you buy, so they're not just a one-time wear. I really liked you before but after this video I like you even more, it felt so honest!

are you talking about niomi? she seemed to get a lot of backlash on her products. if so, she doesnt really portray herself as someone who only uses natural and organic products since shes been working with dior for example for a long time. :)

I love your videos and I love that you’ve stayed authentic. Don’t ever let anyone change you. You weren’t meant to be perfect, you were meant to be real. My soulmate friend and I have gotten on each other’s nerves over the years but it makes for funny stories that we love to tell people. Carrie seems like a sweet, lovely person and so much fun. I bet she always has your back as well. Thank you for sharing your life with us, even the not so wonderful parts. It reminds us we aren’t alone even if we are miles away and have never met. I like you just the way are...you’re a keeper Lydia!

I applaud you for staying true to yourself and creating content that speaks to your brand and vision. In a world where everyone feels the pressure to fit in or be liked, I think you're doing a tremendous job remaining true to your own vision and not feeling the pressure to succumb to the millions of opinions out there. Most of us don't take lavish trips every month, so I relate to your life and find it more useful and enjoyable than someone that keeps posting about their trips and lifestyle that is not very relatable or achievable for most.

I love reading the positive comments Lydia, you answered everything with such grace. Yes you are on a public platform, you are also entitled to a private life and I guess people feel invested in your life but I think there needs to be some sort of compass when you ask an intrusive question or make a personal dig about someone’s grammar, family life, spending habits. I completely agree with you, it’s your blog, your life and it’s just fun to see snippets of it through your videos and IG xxx

I can fully relate to struggling with grammar. I’ve always enjoyed the fact that you aren’t a perfectly polished blogger. As a dyslexic myself it made me feel that despite the fact my writing isn’t perfect I can still blog and create content that I should be proud of. Thank you for always keeping it real!

Absolutely loved this video. You truly showed us a side of you that we haven’t really seen in a while. I’m so glad that you got some of those things off of your chest I’ve seen too many comments about several of those topics! Keep up the good work, Lydia I’ve been following you for a few years now and I have never been able to get bored of a video xx 💓

Hate that baby question, you are absolutely right, it is so rude. Some women think that all women must have children otherwise "they don't know what love is" or "they are incomplete" etc etc but the truth is many women feel the way you feel. Many moms end up miserable with their choice, and I feel there wouldn't be any abandoned children in the world if having a child was so defining. So I feel it is perfectly ok not feeling so maternal. Let your intuition and own life and feelings decide.

Lydia, I thought I wouldn’t enjoy this with you only answering questions and no other content but i found it so interesting and it was things that I was curious and fascinated about. You are such a lovely person and no one could ever have reason to say a bad word. Enjoyed the questions you selected and admire you so much. Xxx

So with you on the baby question! I’m 29 and neither myself or my partner are sure if we want children. But why should I feel embarrassed about admitting that? People look at me as though somethings wrong with me! I have nieces and nephews and I love them, I just don’t know if having my own is on the cards for me. I can’t put a finger on why but I shouldn’t feel ashamed about it. Love your honesty in this video!

Lyds, you absolutely SMASHED this spill the tea, I feel (weird to say, when you’re a complete stranger!) so proud of you! Your self-confidence seems growing to just be growing and growing and I absolutely love it. I’m so glad to see that you are no longer feeling you need to do any apologising for what you say, how you blog, how you feel - which you never EVER needed to, but I think pressure from arseholes made you feel you ought to. I love that. Because after all, this whole tea, is absolutely NONE OF OUR BUSINESS, so thank you for sharing so much of your feelings and very personal experiences. Fantastic news about you and Carrie - it’s almost doing what a great marriage should do, bring you all the more closer! Keep smiling chicken! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lydia. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. You are such a delight. If I could travel with anyone I’d want to travel with you!! I think we’d have so much fun! You are amazing for using your influence to be YOU and encouraging people to just be who they are. ♥️♥️♥️♥️ May you know how loved you are. I am praying for the harassment you endured that it would not become something about you but rather that you’d only see it as an illness in him. You responded in the way you knew how and now you get to use that voice and stand up for you and others in whatever way you want / or not. You are enough and pure no matter what. I love you! ❤️

Don’t anybody gets in you, some people are negative because they don’t know anything else and needs to envy and make negative comments so they’ll be happy. Please continue doing this because we love you and support you.

LOVED this video, Lydia! I've been watching your channel for the past few years and this was by far one of my favorites. You were so honest and open and conversational. I completely understand why you never talked about such personal things before, but the more meaningful, deeper conversation suits you so well! I also want to thank you for talking about your experience with sexual harassment. I think your story is, sadly, a very common one, so thank you for making it ok to process and take time to understand the emotions associated with realizing something of that nature happened to you and coming to terms with that.

Not only are you beautiful...on the outside, you are even more beautiful ~ when sharing yourself! You are so real, Lydia! A very loving, caring, giving young woman! I enjoyed hearing about your heritage, and I had always guessed your looks were more European than English (both my parents;Italian/grandparents both sides from Italy) probably is why I love your vlogs - I can relate to your background which is very similar to mine. A great video! Thank you for sharing, and being so sweet to answer so many questions from your viewers and to be at ease. Yet, to truly express with pride and love of family which came through most definitely! Your family should be very proud of you! :)

I have followed you for some time now and always look forward to your videos. I love your down to earth honest approach, your sense of humour and your varied content. It’s a nice break to sit down and watch your videos and catch up with what you’re up to and I appreciate the time, thought and effort you put into them. It amazes me how critical people are - no one is forcing them to watch! Even though you are on KZbin everyone is entitled to their privacy and no one needs to justify what they do or the choices they make in life. I can relate to the children issue. I never wanted my own and was career oriented. I found my wonderful husband late in life and he has two lovely daughters that I have a great relationship with. People need to decide what’s right for them but it can be difficult when everyone around seems to be having children. You do you and enjoy your life. You’re doing a great job!

Lydia... so intrigued to hear about your family history. I also grew up with parents who came from "different sides of the tracks" in pretty extreme ways, and I never realized how much I appreciated having both perspectives until I got older and found how often lessons from each have made me more well-rounded, empathetic, and ambitious. I think it is a special gift to know that the grass is greener where you water it, which was taught to me by both my mum and my dad. Thanks for sharing your story. :) -Claire

Wow I enjoyed listening to your story time about your parents history and family. Didn’t know that you’ve had a few rough patches with your mom, I am a fairly new viewer, but I’m glad that you guys are doing better! At times I feel like you and you’re husband are also very different in the little snippets you do show us but, it seems that you both still compliment each other so well. You’re very lucky to find a good friend and coworker in Carrie. Love what you do as an entrepreneur and creator, and the quality of content that you put out!

Hi Lydia, that's a powerful thing to speak about your indecent touch online. I have no doubt but it will help people. A lot of people think that it's their fault, and they "should have stopped it", you just speaking about that feeling a little will help others come to terms I think. We'll done and thank you. Also, I don't think you should feel obliged to make any videos. You don't owe us anything.

Aw, Lydia, I feel you! I had a difficult relationship with my mother. Things are going better since I moved and changed country. I think that sometimes, living together, and not having a right communication, on a long way just damaged yourself. They never realised how much damage they can do to us, just with words. So putting distance between you and them is often the only way to heal. My daughter did some tests to verified if she was dyslexic. Initially they thought it was just a little, but she was bullied and isolate by the rest of kids for that. I just need to tell you that I started to show her your vlogs. I have a very (mental) stressful job and I don’t watch Tv, so your vlogs always helped me to relax. So firstly you made her smile, she was always asking me for your vlogs, and those moments together seeing your channel helped her a lot. Because she realised that she was learning english, reading better (specially searching the things you wear🤣🤣)and that gave her the security that in that she hadn’t, just for a lack of esteem. So thank you for that little (big) issue, you beautiful human. Kisses from Rome

I would recommend numbering these videos if you plan to make Spilling the Tea a mini series so it's easier for viewers to know where to start and view them. Also helps keep track of how many spills there have been. Also I've seen other KZbinrs put the questions/topics in the description box (like you have) but also the time stamps for question. Otherwise, this is a cool video concept and I'm a massive fan :). Keep doing you Lydia.

I get asked constantly if I’m going to have children. From every family member and friend, there’s not one of them who hasn’t asked me multiple times. I don’t really get bothered by it though, I just brush it off. I can see why it would bother some people though.
