I didn’t realize this as a kid, Carl and Muntz sorta parallel each other in how their holding onto the past is holding them from the present. Carl was basically taking his house to Paradise Falls to die, and through the movie, his promise to Ellie causes him to lash out and allow Muntz to take Kevin away. Muntz on the other hand, was stripped of his record and spent his whole life trying to prove himself by hunting down this bird. He’s living alone with a bunch of talking dogs in a flying museum, he could’ve used all his resources to educate and inspire future explorers like Carl and Ellie. In the end, Carl letting go of his and Ellie’s possessions are what allowed him to move on and live, but Muntz’s obsession would be the death of him Pretty hardcore stuff man

I kinda can describe the way spilling the milk ruins movies: "Old movies suck I understand them so I'm going to insert my own shit by trying to comment". I would see many people do this irl when watching movies together, it's not THAT bad, and it might be infuriating. But remember: if you don't like all the commentary/reaction - just watch the movie itself. This is a reaction/commentary, you knew what kind of stuff you were about to watch.
@psevdonimietohuina8 ай бұрын
To be honest at first I thought you gonna hate them for not taking movies seriously, lol. And now I don't understand your position about their reactions.
@cheese-and-ricemooney74878 ай бұрын
Commentary/reactions are meant to be a commentary and reaction of the movie. I do find their videos funny and good to watch, their jokes are funny and I love their chaotic nature but at this point it's neither a reaction or commentary. Most of the times we get no reaction because they already watched the thing and won't be surprised, then we also get no commentary because they don't actually comment on what they are seeing but make a joke on what they are seeing which are two different things. To me this channel feels more like a "Let's see how many jokes we can make in one video" rather than a reaction and commentary channel (this is not meant in a way to insult their channel or content but just giving a "category" to their channel which feels more appropriate so to speak as they don't actually react or comment on most of their videos and only try to fill the video with jokes and dumb but funny things and less about the show/movie etc.) People who watch movies/shows etc. in company be it friends or family will talk through it and speak about things during the scenes and while some of them are about making jokes it's not ALL the time about making jokes which is why you can see they aren't really trying to comment. All people will watch something and make a dumb joke but will also discuss about things seriously about that specific thing which we almost never see them do at least on KZbin, on Patreon and Twitch who knows.

@@cheese-and-ricemooney7487 It varies depends on what we're watching but yeah I've always approached it as trying to make jokes "around" the movie. On the foundational level it's just a framework for us to joke around - me and jack's original inspirations were stuff like mst3k, game grumps, adum & pals, abridged series. Sometimes it's more directly relevant (especially if we haven't seen it/we're big fans of it) but to me it's generally more interesting to try and make something new out of it, I've never been big on overly "reacty" reaction content (and if that were all we did we'd have to fake reactions so hard cus our standards are def not it line w the general cartoon sphere lmao). Though ultimately my favorite stuff of ours is usually where we are able to create jokes and running bits while still maintaining an engagement/relation to the overall narrative (owl house, spectacular spiderman, mystery inc, hazbin hotel, a decent amount of the disney/pixar vids), but not all stuff works with that. -kor
