The problem isn't the message, it is a nice message, but there's soooo many movies that have the exact same message, but more interesting characters, premise, have other themes that kids will grasp when older, and the victory feels more earned. The movie isn't bad bad, it's just mediocre and safe. So kids will like it just fine, and I'm sure that was the target, but not only can no one be surprised that most over the age of 5 won't care for it, but the movie won't grow up with most of the kids that watch it.

13:25 they're cheering because landing a normal plane on a aircraft carrier is pretty damn hard due to the very VERY short runway and using an arresting cable might rip off the plane's landing gears if it's not strong enough. For context, any proper navy plane trying to land on a aircraft carrier has a hook to catch on a steel cable mounted across the runway to break or else they would end up falling into the water.
