Deane doesn't need a laundromat to dry his pants when he has a a perfectly operational spin-dryer right next to him that he can stand in and turn on.

I remember the Hoover twin tub machines, the spin bowl as it wound up to speed it sounded like a jet engine and they would dry the clothes better than the bigger top loader. Most likely because it spun so much faster and extracted more water.

When I was taught physics we learned that the velocity of a ball spinning in a circle on a string was tangent to the circle and the acceleration was centripetal. When viewed that way you see that actually there is no centrifugal force because centrifugal means center fleeing. The ball stays in the circle because the tension in the string is acting on it and the change in velocity is angular. If there was an equal acceleration in the centrifugal direction then the ball would go straight and not in a circle.

I have had 2 of the same model I got from amazon ...best money I've ever spent ...First one I bought , I purchased an extra warranty on and after 3 years it was starting to make a noise ...the warranty paid for a brand new one

I have never confused stalactites and stalagmites, but I have always confused centrifugal force and centripetal force. I'd like to see a similar video showing a centripetal force and explaining the difference between them.

Orbit of the earth around the sun. The earths velocity increases its centrifugal force outwards and the gravity of the sun provides centripetal force inwards. Although gravity can be explained as 2 objects warping space time, however, in regards to motion of the orbit centrifugal and centripetal forces are expressed through the elliptical orbit of the earth around the sun.

I'm not the video guys, but centrifugal force is from the perspective of the item attached to the drum. Centripetal force is from the perspective of an outside observer, watching the drum spin. Hope this helps!

Centrifugal force is an apparent force felt by the rotating object. It’s not actually a real force as such.
