Great review - the points you make are spot-on for the disingenuous nature of the toy industry. That said, SpinMasters is doing some great things for cheaper prices and I commend them for that. You literally get like a single action figure from Hasbro for this price - it's ungodly greedy these days. And to give another perspective, think of how Hasbro sold the Mandalorian Razor Crest, simply a husk of a vehicle with an overdone fancy paint job, for $350 (without shipping and taxes) and then SpinMasters does a REMOTE CONTROL Batmobile, with steam, with electronics, with sounds and are able to offer that for $179. Sure it's a bit less plastic, but that's so not even the point. It's awful what Hasbro is pulling these days...

I totally agree, that’s why I stopped being a Star Wars collector, and boycott Hasbro completely. These days I support Jazwares with Halo, Spinmaster etc. Thanks for the comment, looking forward to get this set here in Alberta Canada. Also need to mention that spinmaster has always stock at my walmarts speaks for the brand as well. Happy collecting 👍

You can see the Batmobile good enough in the trailer to know its the same as the original, the Mcfarlane Batmobile is inaccurate, I love it but it's inaccurate. I'm sure there is some licensing reason for it, maybe so spinmasters get a cut, I don't know. I still prefer the Mcfarlane one though but will still pick this one up if I find it.

That was scaled down because it was a Walmart exclusive. It would have been much better if it wasn’t Walmart exclusive. Walmart dictates they want a unit on the shelf for $30, our profit is $7. You have to manufacture it and get your profit from what’s left. IT’s disappointing . I was looking forward to this after the Batman batmobile. The RC has the pop up guns. At least at the moment. From the pictures of the RC it looks like they use the body and scale from this toy. Also disappointing.

I suppose tho - the hollow under the car would be a good place to put say a battery pack - if one is inclined to customize this model with LEDs ☺

Luckily, I have grown up with Kenner under sizing every vehicle. So this Batmobile was just fine for me. Plus it's my FIRST '89 version. I'm pretty happy. I think in the last 10 years most the toy companies have tried to make them cheaper while raising the price. As for The Batman version, you're right it's a slightly bigger scale. I also believe they knew more people would want the '89, so they didn't have to make it as nice. Only flaw in my opinion is it not being two seater. I can customize most things, but I can't enlarge the interior.

The front turbine intake on this one is way more proportional than the McFarland whichlooks a little derpy And the McFarland has that weird cut where the gas tank caps Should be.... the're on this one but not picked out In silver.... The rear turbine Intakes are a little weird and should be more muted..... Heightwise the scale is actually accurate it just needs to be a little wider overall. Really would like it to fit 2 figures And I don't know why they're not putting guns on these unforgivable. Either one of them...... The other weird thing is the way they have The canopy opening with that sharp point. And the remote control. Version Has The whole Vent On the top coming with it really weird Neither One accurate. Proportionally speaking this one Is a way better scale representation even with the lack of detail in the griebels

He fits due to leg space going into the hood. He fits but he's snug. No such luck on him fitting I to batwing without mods.

If McFarlane Super Powers batman can fit, then the smaller Kenner Dark Knight collection Batman can fit easier, and that means this Batmobile is worth picking up for $30 (or less from the flea market). I passed it up because I did not think I could use it for 5" figures. This is the whole reason I have been watching review videos like this.

I tried it a few days ago and he can just barely fit. The ears almost got in the way but it can be done, just be careful about the ears.

I tried to talk myself into buying this, but I just cant do it. The figure looks dumb laying in that seat. The control panel is trash too. I have a heavily modded Kenner Batman Returns one already on display. I think I will just stick to that one.
