Glad to see you are back at it and recovered your mojo! Haven't touched my Fairey Firefly build in weeks so needed some inspiration.

Enjoyed chatting with you at the scale flyin at Blackpool yesterday. I forgot to ask you what electric motor you have in your chipmunk ??

Hi, lovely to meet you, yes it was a very pleasant day, great club you have there. The weather didn't look like it would play ball but worked out perfectly in the end. Cracking day. The Motor in the Seagull Chippy is not massive, a Turnigy 4258 500 kV motor, and a 5S (5 cell) 5000mAh pack. The setup is good for 1200 Watts depending on prop. I dialled in around 900 Watts with the 15 x 10. Can manage the 8 minute schedule with more than 50% left, depends on the weather, windy and you use a bit more.

Would nylon bolts to mount the gear to the plywood work so the gear would simply shear off instead of ripping the mounts out?

I thought I had replied to your suggestion but it seems to have vanished, sorry about that. Yes nylon bolts might work, as would smaller wood screws. the thing you dont want is the long coming off completely and going through the bottom of the wing. Lots of ways to skin a can so to speak..... but thanks for your thoughts, they are very valid.
