My dad is paralyzed on his left side. I'm going to see if he can do this. Great video, thank you so much!

Save this for people that say I just "can't" get up in the morning

You and I are the same, that's how I must look when someone watches me do that stuff

You need the appropriate hospital bed. One that lowers the frame down to about 7.5".

This is painful to watch. One needs to design a device which forms part of the wheelchair and allows effortless transfers between bed and wheelchair, and wheelchair and car. My mother had a stroke and is unable to stand or lift her legs, she can also not move her right arm, she would never manage this.

There's this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJPYepZ5adaYjsk To help cut down it's long term maintance cost, I'd recommend leveling it in a way that doesn't require constant height adjustment for most or most important and frequent (bed to chair) transfers.

At what point do we as a clinician, or aide help them? I understand we want them to to as much work as possible and have some independence, but this was rough

Great but what if you are alone how would he handle the board? I’m asking because I had a stroke 3 years ago and I’m paralyzed on my left side I am hoping to get my own place soon I’m with my parents now and I use a cane to get around but I can’t do that and live alone I can’t carry anything.

Keeping the sneakers on while doing the transfer is ridiculous as it actually just adds a lot of weight to someone’s foot. Not to mention sneakers stick on the bed clothes.
