Hey hun! I had L4-S1 done in August. I have net been doing well 😔. Mental health problems, flares going into my chest, pain, pain, pain especially around my cycle. I had a lot of metal out in. Thanks for sharing your story.

I'm so sorry. I'm hoping you find relief soon. The first couple months of recovery are absolutely difficult as your body gets used to all that metal. I totally get it. Continue to advocate for yourself, have grace with your healing and please find a healthy outlet to help with the challenging emotions. There is a group on Facebook called Forever Fused that I've found to be really helpful when looking for resources for life with a fusion.

I’m really glad that god finally did the miracle for you 😇 I’m 6 months post op single level fusion due to debilitating back pain. After the surgery it was a roller coaster but after maybe 4 months my backpain got worse. Now I can’t do anything due to pain. CT and MRI showed no abnormalities and the screws are in perfect place. Dr have no idea why I’m in pain!! Can this be a hardware issue? How long after the original fusion surgery your hardware was removed? Btw you really gave me hope that this too can end and I wish you a pain free healthy life forever 🍀

Thank you so much for the sweet message! I wish the same for you once you find the reasons behind your pain. I can't really say if it's relation to the hardware - only your doctor could tell you. I will say that it does take pretty much a full year to heal after a fusion so I'm guessing maybe your body is still getting used to the hardware. Are you able to do PT? I had my hardware removed 11 years after my original fusion. You will find your answers! It's exhausting but don't give up.
