Do you have an abnormal spinal curve? Anatomically shorter leg? How does this spinal x-ray interpretation compare with what you've experienced in the past?

Yeah, I have a right leg that's a little shorter than the left - the last two chiropractors I saw told me what you mentioned here in the video -that my leg wasn't actually shorter, but that my pelvis was rotated up the wrong way (because of tight hip flexors??), and that it was just a matter of getting the leg to rotate down.... kind of a bummer to hear in this video that the solution is a foot lift for my shoe, but the explanation Dr. Todd here makes sense

Awesome video! Who is your foot lift vendor? I vote for a leg-length analysis video.

We still use the old radiology method here

No! AS aspect makes the leg "seem" longer, since it pushes the hip down and could teoretically "lift" the whole pelvis up on the AS side (my case, ASEX left ilium). IN aspect makes it "seem" longer even more, EX is vice versa (PI aspect opposite to AS, shortens it)

AS pushes the acetabulum closer to the ground, the ilium rotates on the SIJ and this can be a compensatory action in which the body is attempting to make up for a short leg... if this AS is then adjusted into a PI direction, this will then pull the acetabulum UP, further away from the ground, thus countering the body's attempt to lengthen the short leg- making the short leg even shorter. So in this scenario, it is magnitudes more important to introduce a heel lift or shoe lift (depending on the inequality measurement), in order to level the sacral base AND reduce sheer and stress to the SIJ. -Dr Todd

@@GonsteadSpineWellness I have a question for you if you don't mind because i am not a gonstead by myself but i'd like to be one of you guyz.. PIEX - does it mean that the leg "look" longer on that side when checking the leg length patient laying on belly (heel slightly lower than the other one)? Because from the videos i've seen i thought it's AS / IN or ASIN that would cause this. I've been at my gonstead on fr. and he made a PIEX on my left side a second time and i've always had the left leg longer about 1.5cm than the left (when comparing to the right one laying on belly). Thank you very much Edit: it shows as left pelvis being higher on the left side (xray) about 1.5cm

Ok right now i see an ASEX right ilium BUT if the leg is already short, moving it PIIN could worsen the things potentially. See there is an AS aspect that makes the leg seem longer and EX aspect that makes it seem shorter.. teoretically it could be more EX than AS, causing it looking shorter (and that EX aspect is quite several yes). Btw i did not check the foramen body because it's too small and i'm at 720p, sorry for that. If set as an ASEX and the leg still short - heel lift. But you have to try different heights since the chapters are not entirely "accurate"🙂 Edit: could be as well left PIIN, depends which side is stuck / moves worse

The big picture is as follows: a large leg length inequality is almost always driven by a physically short femur or tibia and NOT an ilium misalignment at the SIJ. These people need a physical lift or modified shoe, no adjustment of the pelvis is going to correct this.
@paveljelinek7723 ай бұрын
@@mnowadmin5676 sure, if there's leg length inequality, this can be measured by hand, then a heel lift should be applied
@mnowadmin56763 ай бұрын
@@paveljelinek772 please explain your method of accurately measuring this by hand, to achieve a leg length inequality value in millimeters.

@@mnowadmin5676 sorry i probably misinterpreted it.. i meant that test that shows you which leg "seems" shorter and which longer to help determine AS In/Ex slash PI... Ilium
