Song about shaving down there...back then.
Odd song as sung from a man's point of view by a woman. The original 1936 version was sung by Edgar Knoblauch (1901-1954). Interestingly the 1944 version has no changed lyrics from the 1936 original.
Lyrics:
One night I looked to my britches.
I held them up together with stitches.
When I looked down, two meaty mounds
It seemed to be covered in a thick curly mane
This was not attractive to the broads and dames
Now I wish not to be too crass, but there was a narrow fellow in the grass.
That night before heading home, I bought myself some shaving foam
I took that razor through that mounded crew. Not even Roosevelt could fight his way through.
Isn't this a fine howdy do?
I packed that foam on so tight, it looked like snow on Christmas night.
I shaved that matted pile,
what I saw later, made me smile,
two fleshy meat mounds were free,
and my knob was now able to breathe.
After cleaning up on the bathroom floor with the octagonal tile, I sat and stared at my undershort buddies for a while.
How neat and clean they now were
the sight of it would make the dames purr
Now I would be fit for marriage, as I had primped my undercarriage. It is so neat and clean can't you see? My steak, potatoes and me.
