I had a patient who went to the Dr with a lump she could feel on her thoracic spine..it hurt if she sat at her desk and all night , the patient was 58 yrs old she told me she came home and it took 2 or 3 hours for the pain to leave..she also had hip pain and at the end of the day couldn't pick her leg up to get in the car..she told me the heating pad was her best friend..but she couldn't walk for 2 hours after getting home...hx of Psoratic arthritis, stroke cerebellar, blood clotting disorder , and small hole in her heart , calcifed menigoma in right frontal lobe. She works in a office andoes well..she had a ct scan and it showed hematoma..i think she will have surgery in a few months..the lump on her thoracic spine was slowly getting bigger and bigger...i could feel the lump myself...it was painful on application...poor lady...

I have one of these at T12. I've had ACDF, cervical facetectomy, laminectomy, spinal cord stimulator implanted, and having another ACDF at another level in 4 days. I'm having terrible mid back pain and wonder if it's from this hemangioma diagnosed 4 years ago. At the time I was told to not worry about it, and kind of forgot about it.

This is my MRI report. I’m having terrible pain with burning, numbness & tingling. I go back to my neurosurgeon in 2 weeks at MUSC. I can only stand for about 5 minutes & I have to lean forward till I can sit down to ease the pain. There is normal alignment. Vertebral body heights are maintained. There are multilevel osseous hemangiomas measuring up to 8 mm at the L5 level. Otherwise marrow signal intensity is within normal limits. The visualized spinal cord is normal in signal intensity. The conus medullaris terminates at L1 level. The nerve roots of the cauda equina appear normal. The paraspinal soft tissues are normal. Evaluation of the individual levels demonstrates: L1-L2: No significant spinal canal or significant neural foraminal stenosis. L2-L3: No significant spinal canal or significant neural foraminal stenosis. L3-L4: No significant spinal canal or significant neural foraminal stenosis. Mild bilateral (left greater than right) facet arthropathy. L4-L5: No significant spinal canal or significant neural foraminal stenosis. Moderate right and mild left facet arthropathy. L5-S1: Small central zone protrusion without significant spinal canal or significant neural foraminal stenosis. Prominent right facet effusions with marrow and perifacet edema.

Is it reasonable for a spine surgeon to dismiss a T7 hemangioma on a 47yo woman's MRI as an incidental finding that has been there since infancy? I am having leg weakness, bladder problems and problems walking (getting progressively worse) and lower legs are hyperreflexive. I have never seen hemangioma mentioned on any CT scans I've had in the last 7 years. Is it reasonable to think a radiologist might think it wasn't worth mentioning hemangioma in a report?

On a benign hemagioma that is 36.5 mm and no one can do surgery the choice is only the cement, ethanol, or radiation therapy...... Causing extreme biological sciatica no one will remove it I guess this person will have to have the radiation therapy?

Hi, question. So I just found out I have a Large lipid rich hemangioma at C7. Along with buldge discs C5 & C6. I deal with major pain in my lower & upper back and my left shoulder. I can’t stand for longer than 30 minutes or sit for a long time either. Nothing helps with the pain and it’s bad during mornings & nights. How bad is this thing & is it a tumor? What treatments are there? The reason why I ask is because there’s not much information around it. Thank you

I have an Atypical L5 Hemangioma that is huge and possibly taken place of the bone and growing into the nerve. The surgeon wants to do a 5 hour open surgery. He cannot remove the whole tumor, but remove it from the nerve. Up until 2018, I was a runner and doing yoga, now I am too scared to do anything, but even more scared to have an open surgery. I am in pain, but way too scared to have a surgery. If anyone on this post has advice. I am open to it.

Hi don't know if you will see this but I am desperate for any nformation . I was diagnosed with an atypical hemangioma in 2016 at my lumber spine within the bone and has not changed my specialist told me that they can not remove it because of the position they would not get it all. They also said they can't give me a biopsy either ! But they are pretty sure it's safe. I have been having regular MRIs to check for changes and now they are not checking it till 2020 !! And they said if it's the same then no more MRIs ! Which I'm not happy about ! It's very painful all the time and I'm on very strong pain relief . I wonder if there is any advice you could tell me as I am in the UK and it's so hard to get any info about our conditions best wishes Elaine xx

Hi Doctor, i have a question. What if white spot is vissible on T1 and T2 modes but is not vissible on fat supression images at all? Is it still hemangioma or can it be just a big fat spot?

Here is the link on the main images from the same location. i.postimg.cc/CFrXDmZW/hemangioma1.png I do not see any white spots on fat suppression image on TH1 and TH2 vertebrae.
