My dad passed in 2017, and he loved Swallow the Sun; His fave band was Tyr, but StS was also high up. This is my fave StS track, and it was his as well, as it helped us both cope with losing my mom in 2010. When dad lost his fight with cancer, I played this at his service for my family, and everybody cried. He taught me how to play guitar when I was 12, and I couldn't have asked for a better father. RIP Padre, I still smile every time I hear this song, remembering your reaction when you first heard it.

Lyrics "Where do we go from here? When these words have been unspoken. We carry this burden through the gentle summer rain. The convoy is still, still and weeping, yet I don't feel anything, but these walls around. "And the candles on cathedral walls chase the weak light under the saints eyes, over you, and your shattered words for the ones you lost. In your mourning you're alone, so alone." This silence speaks a million words, words of comfort so shallow. How I wish even for one tear, but for my heart it is too late. Where do I go when the sorrow turns to hate. Where do I go from here? The guardian angels quiet and near, slowly turning away, for hell is surely here. Every step towards the hole in the ground I rot, carrying your white coffin, my heart wide shut. I will follow you, earth to earth. I will follow you, ashes to ashes. I will follow you, dust to dust. I will follow you! How I wish even for one tear, but for my heart it is too late, when sorrow turns to hate. Never got why people liked growls but I sure love it now even if I have to look up the lyrics. I'm so glad I found STS. Their music catalog is so good that it doesnt seem fair to other bands. If your new to them their music will take you places emotionally and it's awesome. When I was younger I listened to stuff on the faaaaaaaaaaar extreme spectrum of metal, but as I've gotten older I find myself mellowing out a lot finding a niche with bands like STS, Insomnium, Ghost Brigade, Isole, Decembre Noir etc. Something about the dichotomy of those bands is fascinating to me. As for people who talk shit about your musical preference, it's unavoidable. Regardless of what you listen to some asshole out there is going to trash talk you for it. So much more than money can buy, a forever lost treasure. Simply, art fulfilling its purpose with a duo we can now only regret!

CATHEDRAL WALLS SONGTEXT Where do we go from here? When these words have been unspoken. We carry this burden through the gentle summer rain. The convoy is still, still and weeping, Yet I don′t feel anything, but these walls around. "And the candles on cathedral walls Chase the weak light under the Saints eyes Over you, and your shattered words for the ones you lost. In your mourning you′re alone, so alone."

STS has a way of sincere expression that is, quite frankly, a level above any other modern metal act that I am aware of.

Check out Insomnium. STS has actually worked with them and they're one of the best melo-death bands in my opinion. They're also Finnish!

Check out "Daylight Dies" as well. I recommend songs like "Dismantling Devotion", "A Life Less Lived" and "Solitary Refinement"

"I wanted to find someone who can sing like an angel and I somehow heard Anette’s solo song called “Invincible” and I knew I need to ask from her if she wants to do the vocals on the Cathedral Walls song. She really liked the song and wanted to do it and she did amazing job with it." -Juha

Such a nice ballad. Silky smooth string arrangements, lush synth pads, haunting guitar arrpeggios, beautiful chorus melody. And then something happens at 3:40 that cannot be explained.
