Arguably the best side character episode I’ve ever seen from a show

What's happening is after being forced quirks he couldn't handle it's slowly causing brain damage and impairing his ability to think. And his quirk that covers him in red scales is making them sprout from his body causing him more pain.

While it wasn’t at the forefront exactly, there have been a lot of instances of mutant prejudice that we’ve seen before this. Sometimes not even intentionally. Shoto Todoroki called the chief of police a “mutt,” and a member of Class 1-B saying that octopuses creeped her out to Shoji’s face. And then of course there’s the Creature Rejection Cult from last season. It’s a genuine problem that some people, heroes included, can gloss over at times. That leads us to here. Two different perspectives. Should heteromorphs tear down the corrupt system that enabled this kind of prejudice? Or should they prove the prejudice people wrong by becoming a part of that system? Either way, it’s hard to say whether or not that grudge will ever truly disappear. Biggest regret here though? Accepting those quirks from All for One. By manipulating the emotions of those who were wronged by society, he’s using their cause to further his own agenda. And now, the only person who could possibly understand what was going on, can barely speak properly. Ultimately, this cause was part of a bigger picture that speaks to the corruption of hero society, and changing the world for the better…

They adapted this better than I would've expected! Glad you appreciated the message being conveyed here. It made Shoji rank up quite a bit when it comes to my list of characters that I love in this series

@@KhalilSonic Well I personally never thought it was trash, I actually quite liked it. It just needed some more buildup here and there, but otherwise it’s pretty solid!

@@ZheroG2363 sure but it's not something that came out of nowhere nor had any relation to the main plot of deku & Shigaraki & If I'm not mistaken the first instance of this plot was when we were introduced to the CRC (the kkk version of MHA) which mind you it came out in the Manga after Class A vs B joint training arc we anime only watchers didn't see that until halfway through season 6 And then we saw it through Spinner's flashback during the liberation army vs the LOV about his village & how they treated him And lastely during the vigilante deku arc when we meet the tall lizard lady & basically explained how people are scared of her because of her looks (Note: the second movie also had something similar with the villain that is a beast looking what experiment did to him & grabbing Shoji calling him "an ugly one") Heck this could even go back when they introduced principal Nezu Did it need more build up? Maybe but I don't know what else could've been done And saying it came out of nowhere is just bs

@@KhalilSonic Never said it came out of nowhere, I’m aware of the hints and foreshadowing we’ve gotten, all I’m saying is that it could’ve used a bit more. I genuinely enjoyed it 😅

@@KhalilSonicyeah, while more buildup would have been nice, it definitely didn’t come out of nowhere. And the more I think about it, I think that it becoming such a big plot point all of a sudden kind of fits with Spinner being a bandwagoner. Sure, mutant discrimination is a big part in why he is the villain he is, but that’s not the actual reason he’s doing this. He’s doing it out of loyalty to Shigaraki, and taking advantage of other people like him (although he was kind of gaslit into doing that part). Oh yeah, and another reason people dislike this plot line is due to a lack of media illiteracy. Many people SOMEHOW misunderstood the message Shoji is trying to convey, thinking he’s telling them that they should just stay oppressed and deal with it.

Spinner versus Shoji is such a meaningful matchup. Spinner never really had an ideology and didn't even have much power for most of his life. He's being forced by AFO to do something whereas Shoji is the most principled and noble guy ever and they're both heteromorphs.

Wearing a mask to avoid scaring people is an unfortunate reality. Truth be told, I think both ways of rising up against oppression and prejudice have their merits. But I guess that’s the hardest choice for a lot of people. On one hand, I would want to support a movement like this, because truth be told, a lot of people, whether intentionally or not, *have* hurt heteromorphs (mutants), and society *has* enabled that kind of behavior. But on the other hand, I can’t say that attacking a hospital is really a great way to prove the point that heteromorphs deserve equal treatment. It’s sad to say, but if All for One loses, then many of these people would be thrown in prison and seen as nothing more than criminals to the public. Obviously, I don’t blame them for acting the way they are though. It’s not fair that they have to make the choice to be strong against unwarranted discrimination that was thrown against them. Nothing about any of this is fair. But I guess that’s my main point. How should we choose to rise up against an oppressive world? Time is one of the main things that will tell.

I think the Horns just made Koda telepath... At least to animals. He always been using his voice. But his voice couldn't always be loud enough to call animals from a distance. So he's using his head to call animals from much further.
