trextrextrex I use 15lb Trilene big game. That bit of stretch is crucial since I'm using a stout med heavy fast action graphite rod.

Is that Medium heavy for 1/2 ounce spinnerbaits? Would you go medium fast action for 1/4 to 3/8 ounce? Thanks great video!

Eyesofthasouth ya anything under 1/2 oz could be handled by a medium power rod. The rod action must still be fast though. 1/4 oz spinnerbaits are not common in bass fishing though. 3/8 oz is typically as light as we go.

a lot of people use mod fast rods for spinnerbaits as well , to keep the fish pegged. Its just like a chatterbait, people like a slower action to give the fish time to get the hook better and keep them pegged so they dont shake it off. Either fast action with some tip to the rod or a MF will work, it depends on your hookset too. I lose less now with a softer tip rod than i did with an extra fast tip, but thats me, everyones different.
