never have luck with lipless crankbait always just end up with weeded up hooks even with trying to rip it off... sigh

huh he says a 5:1 for lipless crankbaits while most go for a 7:1. To each his own.

No reason to go that low ratio on lipless. 6.1 is lowest I would go and likely 7.1

He explains why though.he says because he will personally fish his baits too fast with the higher gear ratio n he is used to a lower ratio n it helps slow him down...

Paul Guerrero I get that. But I own several 5:1 reels and fishing traps with them would be torture

@@netefrog that's the ratio I always use..but I yo-yo my lipless so it doesn't really matter
