Yes! I have been looking for this forgotten technique for days. In the 70’s this is how all spun seams were done. Sometimes you would make a dot at the intersection to know where to stop. Thanks!

Okay, true confession here: Whenever I have the top piece coming out bigger than the bottom one, I've always just forced a little tuck, which of course means a probably ugly little bleb on the right side. It NEVER has occurred to me to stretch the bottom fabric like you did to ease that length outa there. GENIUS! I may never do any seam-spinning, but by golly, no more stupid-looking weirdnesses! THANKS, Matt!
