I am glad to find this video. Very good teaching! This is a better front spin because both hands together can spin 720 degrees in one turn. It is also a hard one to learn, especially taking over the staff with the right hand.

Depends on what you are going for. Most Japanese arts use a solid oak. The Rattans are lighter and don't splinter into pieces the way an oak can, but they are a harder wood generally.. If you are just learning the lighter bamboo or rattan is enough.Or go to your local store and pick up a roughly 6ft piece of oak and sand it down a bit. You don't need fancy when you are just learning.

P.S...It's called a bo or a staff. Saying bo staff is like saying, staff staff. Kind of pointless.

Will my wrists loosen up over time? I am struggling with my wrists, I have always had issues with them, In every day life I haven't used them too stressfully but now I struggle to even bend them back enough to do a pushup on the floor, if I push through it they hurt like Ive sprained or something them for days and I can't even bend them at all. It is the twisting that is catching me out here, I get the "skip catch" and can do it a little faster the kid in the video, but after a lot of spinning, my wrists start to stiffen up and I cant spin the staff enough to do the skip without letting go, I am doing more of a flick-skip-catch

Something needs to be done about the cyber-stalking parasites that contaminate every positive comment. I miss it when you could just delete comments from your comment thread.
@neaituppi73066 жыл бұрын
Definition of cyberstalking: The posting of defamatory or derogatory statements. Using web pages and message boards to incite some response or reaction from their victim. Many cyberstalkers try to damage the reputation of their victim and turn other people against them. They post false information about them on websites. They may set up their own websites, blogs or user pages for this purpose. They post allegations about the victim to newsgroups, chat rooms, or other sites that allow public contributions. Encouraging others to harass the victim. Many cyberstalkers try to involve third parties in the harassment. They may claim the victim has harmed the stalker or his/her family in some way, or may post the victim's name and telephone number in order to encourage others to join the pursuit. (AKA sergio) They are dominating these comment sections. And it is more than just for Jake. It is for anyone that leaves a positive comment. They get verbally insulted, (cyberbullied) Negative Ignorance does dominant in this society. It doesn't hurt the channel. The videos get far more likes than dislikes, and the dislikes are considered channel engagement, and the channel keeps coming up on top. Several of these channels that have absolutely no content, let alone Kung Fu content that would show they know anything or not, have been cyber-stalking this channel for years. Like up to 7 years. They have no content of their own to show what they know. Just a lot of shit-talk. I see several comments coming i about how this is spinning the Bo Staff like a cheerleader and has no fighting application. Right there shows they don't understand conditioning of Kung Fu. You have just demeaned, in your mind the art of the Bo Staff, and the core foundation of Kung Fu, which is conditioning. My wrist and arm strength has increased exponentially by doing Bo Staff spins. It is like the New Shaolin Temple student that is told to slap the surface of the water for hours. And day after day, week after week, month after month, that is all he is given to do. He gets impatient and doesn't see the point. He goes home to visit his family. And they excitedly ask what he has learned, until he snaps, and bangs his hands down on the table, breaking the table. After that he returns and dives into the conditioning and training with a new sense of understanding. This video shows that Jake knows how to teach. It doesn't matter if some negative cyberstalker insults me to make some point in their head that he isn't, or he needs a piece paper over solid video proof. If someone says they think he doesn't know anything about Bo Staff, they need to show a video of them doing Bo Staff. No content cyberstalkers need to show a current, this day or next video of it. Or they are just shit-talk. But they won't, and they will come up with excuses why they won't or shouldn't have to. I don't give a fuck about your opinions. I want to see how well you can do it. But you won't, became you don't train.
@neaituppi73066 жыл бұрын
I have heard it all for years. You are saying things about me, and you know nothing about what I know. He doesn't make claims, he just teaches it. He has answered in video to what extent he felt he needed to about his training. But he doesn't reply to cyberstalkers that have been insulting in comments for years, or just talking misinformation. In Okinawan it is Kun. In Korean it is joong bong, in chinese it is bang, in Japanese it is Bo. But to make an issue about saying Bo Staff is a dick move, because it is now generally called a Bo Staff. I am sure you feel smart by saying that, but most everyone in the martial art community refers to it as the Bo Staff. It really does not matter. Jake often uses Chinese words in his videos, and can speak them correctly. But you wouldn't know, because you don't do your research. You just cyberstalk the comment section. I notice you made no mention of having Bo Staff content or any Kung Fu content to show what you know about the Staff. Because you are too busy stalking the comment section.
@neaituppi73066 жыл бұрын
Legend_Killers10: This channel has no content. This channel doesn't even have subscriptions or favorites or a single fucking thing, because it was designed to cyberstalk channels. This channel does not realize yet that I don't give a fuck about their opinions, I want to see it.
@neaituppi73066 жыл бұрын
Why are you still replying if you are not a cyberstalker? You replied to my first comment. So I am calling you out. If you practice Choy Li Fut, we will never know, because you are a no content cyberstalking-channel. I have talked to several of the chronic cyberstalker channels that comment, and they claim to train in this or that, but they never have anything to show for it. And the ones that do, it is other people doing it, and they are filming it. And the ones that actually have their own martial art content, they are usually not very good at doing it or teaching it. Or they exemplify the basest form of it. Jake doesn't make claims, he puts click-bait titles sometimes, but the videos show he knows how to teach. You are glassing over several of the points I am making, because of your negativity. I didn't ask you to reply to my initial comment with a snide reply. Legend_Killers10 2 hours ago Heki Kahni HAHA Legend_Killers10 Legend_Killers10 2 hours ago Heki Kahni CYBER-STALKING PARASITES???? Trust me, I have talked to most of the cyberstalkers that have been doing this for years. Often they don't even realize that I talked to them a few years before, because all they are obsessed with and give most of their attention to is stalking the channel with the same talk. Chances are I probably talked to you on one of your previous channels, before you made this one up. If you are too afraid to post videos of your Choy Li Fat, don't waste time and fuck off.
