the world needs more spinozas

It has them. But kanye west, joel Epstein and other tellivangelist nut cases suck all the oxygen from the masses. It leaves a spinozist hopelessly surrounded by very shallow people. However MLK was a different case here.

I think this guy was damn near spot on :) after studying religion in great depth, I was working on a theory, and it was much like Spinoza's but not as complete.

have you written out your theory? would like to investigate. thanks, best, yoni

All admirers of Spinoza should read the 8th century Indian philosopher Shankaracharya and his Advaita Vedanta.
@EinsteinKnowedIt4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps but for what purpose? Spinoza is complete. No one should have to seek the nationality of a truth teller. So long as the truth is what it is. And that the truth is not relative to your special race creed status in life or color.
@jonatanduelund91233 жыл бұрын
@@EinsteinKnowedIt I think you will find that Advaita Vedanta agrees very much with what you just said. And i suggest you examine your definition of the word complete.
@EinsteinKnowedIt3 жыл бұрын
@@jonatanduelund9123 oh yes agreed! I am interested in little else than deep rooted well thought out philosophical truths. Spinoza isn't the first to apprehend them but he is the most compelling explainer of them. So I'm told. And from reading him I'm convinced.

Parmenedies' Fatalism and Pantheistic animism, vs Heraclitus' Change, flux and becoming. Spinoza is with Parmenedes.

He was with both, as he was with the Stoics, Descartes, and Hobbes. Spinozism is that unique.

Two Indian philosophers who never get the same attention as received by Spinoza for saying the same thing yet in far more profound way. Advaita Vedanta by Shankaracharya Zen Budhism by Bodhidharma

Spinoza did not reject metaphysics. Neither did Schopenhauer. Hume in one passage did entirely reject metaphysics but then he did not.

If people can understand his theory world is more peaceful.

A is dual to that which is not A! Positive is dual to negative. Knowledge is dual:- Deductive knowledge is dual to inductive knowledge -- Immanuel Kant. Thesis is dual to anti-thesis -- the generalized Hegelian dialectic.

Still hung up on race and/or nationality i see. Look he was excommunicated. He's a brotha now. Slaves and prisoners weould understand him quocker than his contemporaies. Hence this iswhy he had an omen and strted writing feverishly until he died. And one guy he influenced heabily was a black man.and i considwr that black matuematician a reencarnation of his mind. So much for a this nationality pride stuff.

Mind is dual to matter -- Descartes. Thesis is dual to anti-thesis -- the time independent Hegelian dialectic. Mind (thesis) is dual to matter (anti-thesis) creates or synthesizes God! God (non-duality) is created from duality!

He certainly was a great man and had a clear and charismatic style of writing, but the men mostly covered in this book were either more groundbreaking in their contributions to philosophy or had a bigger impact on history.
