Spiral Messy Bun Hat. I wanted to put a twist on the messy Bun hat. So I spiraled the Stitches instead. This spiral messy Bun hat is nice enough for any occation.
Red Heart yarn goo.gl/5MG149

Miss Littlejohn... I watched the video about 4-5 times more and looked at the written instructions, plus your note and I did it!!! I tend to crochet tight so it turned out perfect for my 11 year old granddaughter! I will post a photo on your page. Thank you for your patience with me. And to everyone else, please just watch the video a couple more times and look at the written instructions and it will become clear. She will LOVE this hat!! I have to make another for my DIL...

I'm a little confused about the 10 rows. Do I increase one for each row. Mine is not getting wider 3rd row: FP, 3 dbl cr. All the way around 4th row: FP, 4 dbl cr " " " " 5th row FP, 5 dbl cr all the way around for each row? Please respond, asap... I'm working on it now
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 7 жыл бұрын
no you are not increasing at all . The stitches are probably being put in the wrong spot. You shouldn't be getting wider. Thats my fault for the poor video. I just remade this video. Its a much slower paced tutorial. You are able to see exactly where I put all stitches. same pattern kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4DNpI2pjrB1aa8

I feel like I'm doing the same thing and end up with triple the stiches that the pattern calls for. Is there a way to slow the video down so I can see where she's crocheting?

Cj Westover there's a settings button in KZbin. Look for the gear next to the timeline in the video
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 7 жыл бұрын
Cj Westover I know what's happening. Look at video 2:55. Put the video into Slow speed. After u FpDc, 2Dc... You appear to skip a double crochet (but it's actually not as skip) you're putting a front Post in every single double crochet, which will lead to too many stitches

If I am using a chunky yarn, I would need to do a smaller starting chain to keep the size the same, any advise of how many chains I should do in order to keep the pattern?
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 7 жыл бұрын
Mindy Arreola I can't tell you exactly what it is. But you can get your own estimation. Complete your starting chain with worsted weight yarn, then measure how long it is. Then chain x amount of inches with the chunky yarn. I hope that makes sense.
@mindyla101
@mindyla101 7 жыл бұрын

This is a lovely hat and I would love to make it. BUT this video is WAY TOO FAST!!! And whoever is typing for you is getting it all wrong so it's very hard to follow. I was doing the CC with the volume way down so as not to disturb my sleeping hubby, but it was impossible to follow (in one sentence it said bitch instead of stitch!!). On your written instructions it says rows 3-12 to dc 3 in space after FPDC and then repeat from * to *... well there is no * in the pattern. AND if you did that in rows 3-12 you would end up with a lot more than 60 sts after row 12. In the written pattern it also does not say to ch3 at the beginning of row 4 instead of ch2 and so on. I believe you should re-do your video because I am not the only one stating it is WAY too fast, plus it is out of focus and hard to see. Thank you... from everyone.
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 7 жыл бұрын
Sorry the video is to fast. fortunately there is a gear button (settings) to slow down the video I only have a $50 cell phone to record my video on and an editing app on my phone. It takes almost 8 hrs just to make & edit one video. Yotube automatically close captions for all my youtube video. to get a real professional close caption would cost hundreds of dollars per video. i'm just a normal person trying to provide a free service lol. For the pattern (dc 3 in sp after fpdc) is not an increase you have to be careful with your stitches. I hope that helps. so you shouldn't end up with a lot of stitches. i'm sorry you did not like the video
