Phew - certainly tricky wind! Always thought that plane needed a bit of wing dihedral. Lovely build and super attention to detail - and the motor - well - just gorgeous. Pretty tricky conditions - handled well... big relief to see it down safe.

Realistic sounding engine. Looks like it flies like the real thing, somewhat unstable. Thanks for these great videos.
@RCScaleAirplanes7 жыл бұрын
_Thank you for your kind comments. The instability was caused by the strong wind._

What a BEAUTIFUL piece of history aviation! Beautiful detail to. 👍🏼 Great camera work as ALWAYS my friend! 😉👍🏼 It looks like he needs to lengthen the strut on the left side just a little bit. The wing looks pulled down a bit. 😬

Thank you very much. Unfortunately the engine did not run well and there was a heavy wind. That's why the flight was very short.

The Spirit of St Louis was inherently unstable owing to it's disproportionately short fuselage and undersized tail surfaces.... do you find the model (which is beautful, by the way) unstable as well?

trank you very much Guys for the nice coments😆.. IT was the 6th flight After construction and building it in only 150 days. IT was my dream for several years. All dimensions are scale. Also the flaps... this is why IT is a bid tricky to fly with cross winds😊... but i love it .. if you like more to see take a look at www.fun-modellbau.com. AT the bottom of the start page is an link to the discovery Chanel film. wich shows the building battel i won with IT last year.

you know you don't have to get on the rudder in a wind, just let the plane drift with it, the plane doesn't know its windy so just let it fly. or is it out of trim?

Why is the nost painted gold? Obviously, whoever built this either didn't understand or know that the current color of the nose cowling is due to aging of the coating that was applied to it by the Smithsonian years ago. The proper color of the nose is ALUMINUM in color, with a turned finished pattern. It always disappoints me to see models that show a gold-colored nose. So sad.

Unfortunate revving of the engine like a motorcycle and poor directional control/yaw authority - perhaps a crosswind prevailed but even so. I would have preferred to see this scale model which was so carefully and meticulously detailed to replicate the real thing also flown like the real thing, there is way way too much power and the inputs are too strong. It never ceases to puzzle me as to why builders fly their masterpiece creations like 3D or sports planes! That said I was blown away by the detailing and finish on this gorgeous bird well done!

The pilot needs to get off the right rudder. It would fly much straighter then. And quit revving the engine. It's not a race car.
