Courtney and Tati sound great together. I really like near the end when Courtney was singing clean and Tati growling behind her. Lounder Than Life festival is in Louisville ,Kentucky, USA. They had another guest in this set. Poppy joined them for Spiritbox's new song "Soft Spine", which is all harsh vocals.

I saw Jinjer live for the first time at the end of 2012 by chance at a festival! And this young, small, petite woman (when she stands next to me it always looks so funny and I'm not that tall at 192cm) But when Tatjana is on stage and starts doing her thing, she is gigantic with her voice, technique and stage presence, which really sets her apart from many others! I've been working in this whole concert, festival, stadium show & concert circus for decades! I've seen both acts live in various performance situations, that is, live on stage on tour, as a support act on tour for a headliner and at festivals... At the end of the day, I'm an "older 50-something" metal head who isn't into this pop metal from Spiritbox and all computer software-generated music and metal concerts controlled by countless laptops... I'm more on the craft metal musician side of the Ukrainians. And vocally, the two are completely different singers with such different types of harsh singing! I feel exactly as Melisa rightly said, I like the deeper, more powerful sound of it, whether it's the girls or the boys, much better than the high one! Courtney has a beautiful, clear singing voice, but as soon as she goes into harsh screaming mode, then I'm done for... she's just so high that I don't even hear her growling, it's a slightly deeper scream, but not quite that growling! And this form of harsh metal screaming like Courtney or Poppy or little 12-year-old Harper, I switch over or can just about get through a song and then have to leave because their shrieking, screaming singing technique really starts to lead to negative aggression over time, all this screaming. And Tatjana, in turn, has this very unusual depth as well as power, pressure that female singers do not have, and so she is the only one to create such clean, deep growls and her screams are also a little deeper, but with a certain pressure that others cannot master! I also know that during this song, performance at the festival, Tatjana's vocal sound was catastrophically bad for the audience most of the time... Sometimes the beginning, middle, etc. could not be heard at all, too quiet or otherwise constantly irregular! They obviously had a brutal struggle at the FOH and had no idea about the whole thing! You can also hear the difference in sound quality in the video, when Tatjana sings harshly into the microphone for the first time with full power, they had to really tinker at the end for the video to somehow get the sound tracks together! So it seems to me as if Tatjana's heavy, harsh vocals were always on the brakes and not at full speed! Funny stuff but next time please record everything better in the best quality so that you can really hear the best of both....😉🤘🏽🇨🇭🤗

I think everyone who knows anything about both vocalists knew that Courtney and Tatiana would sound great together, and hoped to hear the proof someday - I'm so glad we finally got it! I also wish that Courtney and Tati had harmonized - the clean harmony you heard later in the song was provided by the bassist. My understanding is that Courtney & Tati did not rehearse this performance together, so they didn't really have a chance to plan or practice a harmony. It would be very cool to hear.
@glebivanov63235 күн бұрын
It'd be cool and contribute to the hype if both bands will make cross-collab - one new song by Spiritbox featuring Tatiana and one song by Jinjer featuring Courtney (there're no any Jinjer's songs with featured artists, why not?).

Unfortunately, during the performance, the feed from Tati's mic wasn't getting further than the mixing/recording desk, so for the crowd, they heard Courtney, then silence whenever Tati sang. It's kind of the reason this performance was released as a video, because it was too fucken good for no one to hear it. It was the bass player from Spiritbox who remixed it for the video.

Interestingly, in a recent interview, Courtney said that when you listen to the official studio version of any Spiritbox song, it’s the worst you’ll hear her perform it, because she hasn’t always yet figured out (through live performances of the song) what additional vocal techniques she can throw in to add more impact.

@frankh96004 күн бұрын
This performance was unrehearsed. Josh Gilbert (bass, backing vocals clearly audible here) took the tracks from the soundboard recoding and remixed the stuff the following days after the event. Early footage on TT, YT, FB, Insta, evidences that Tatiana's vocals were barely listenable in the live sound mix 😢 Well decided, this concert clip will make it above 100mn views in less than one year and help to push Spiritbox' and Jinjer's stellar trajectory.

So much great with these two. My damn ear hears Tati thinner in the melody and Courtney's voice richer. Then Tati's greowl comes from the lowest pits of hell that ripped the skin off my flesh. Tati def gets Boss Queen for that. Fave part was Courtney's melody over the demon growls. We should let them fight it out like T1 & T2 Terminator style. The future lies in the balance! And yeah! You've been sleeping on some Spiritbox. A lot of judgement off one song. Fair. But still only one song. FWIW, I think Spiritbox is more dimensional than a lot of prog-core bands. Cellar Door to Secret Garden to Rule of Nines. Put down the 'nog and get to it!🧟♀
@Hlaford295 күн бұрын
Gosh, I thought it was my imagination... I also heard Courtney's voice somehow stronger, more interesting here than in the original track. And I really shared your opinion that she somehow lacked somehow in the "cleans". Now, after this collab, I've changed my opinion. But perhaps it's that their style as a band is mixing harsh with pop, that's why she has to sound like that, and here she was just doing what that crowd most wanted - "meat"... And Jinjer are more about progressive sound (more complex music, I mean), which is really heard in such songs as the famous "Pisces", or "I speak astronomy". This needs another vocal "colouring"

I have to disagree. Courtney’s tone is different but it’s as strong as Tati’s. I’m also willing to believe she’s got a stronger scream than you or me. Personal opinion isn't dumb, slagg8ng off someone for a personal opinion that has nothing to do with liking or disliking a whole genre or and is just a personal preference is gatekeepers and just petty and dumb. I love metal, and all music, but personally think Dave Mustaine has one of the most annoying singing voices in the world. Does this affect whether I like metal or music? No. Does it mean I can't have an opinion on music? No. Does it mean your being an arse saying its a while community, when it's 1 or 2 people posting on a vid, and trying to flex cancel culture on someone expressing a personal view, most likely, but it's your view, however petry and misguided, and your welcome to it.
