Stephen's grandson here. I was just accepted into Wharton a few months ago. I had never seen this video until it popped up in my timeline today. Chills.

Amazing! I had a privilege to meet Mr. Covey during his talk at Wharton. I had an opportunity to join him on stage for the impromptu exercise as can be seen in the video. He made a very strong impression on me - a legend.

I met Dr. Covey while an undergraduate at Weber St. Univ. He gave a talk on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and afterwards I asked him a question. I asked him a question about it and he couldn't have been more gracious and nice. He was a real gentlemen.

"There's 4 basic needs in all of us: to live, to love, to learn, to leave a legacy. Be sure to attend to all 4. To live is a physical-economic one, to love is an emotional-social one, to learn is a mental one, to leave a legacy is a spiritual one. Make your mind up to make a difference." -Stephen Covey

36:04 Great poem I Got the lines When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes I all alone beweep my outcast state, And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries, And look upon myself, and curse my fate, Wishing me like to one more rich in hope, Featured like him, like him with friends possessed, Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope, With what I most enjoy contented least; Yet in these thoughts my self almost despising, Haply I think on thee, and then my state, Like to the lark at break of day arising From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate; For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

Trust is the function of Trustworthiness. Modeling is the 1st role of leadership. Be royal to those of who is absence. Your Integrity counts. It is said by Dag Hammarskjole It is more noble to give yourself completely to one individual, than to labor diligently for the salvation of the masses.

I love this guy, I wish I had read his book 20 years ago. And one of the proofs, that his principles worked, is the fact people respond to him with his weird look. He was truly a creepy looking guy. But his character gets past that.

He is talking so far above their heads it's hilarious. He says something unapproachably profound, and they respond "But Master Splinter, what advice would you give to an MBA who doesn't have time to listen to what you're saying?"
