Laws. Isn't it great that a few politicians get to decide what we the people can do on our own land. Isn't freedom grand. Anyway, this looks amazing.

Because of the snow load in winter, a A-Frame cabin is the way to go. Use 2x6 rafters attached to your deck.Make them long enough so that you can have a sleeping loft. At least 24' long. Let them extend below deck to create a storage space. Simple to make. Use the deck you got for now and add on later.

Will A frame cabins also do better than normal buildings in hurricane and tornado prone areas? Thanks for your comment on this.

Ummm. You have a great point but, snow load in her situation is basically irrelevant. She must remove her tent for a specific time every year. Winter is THE perfect time. And... She stated that specific point in the video.

Love this! I am trying to save up for an acre or 2 of land. I have been living in a 20’ by 10’ foot tent for almost 2 years. Luckily, I am in the basement (unfinished basement) so I have everything in my tent home, that anyone with a house does. I have watched your video before, back when I started living like this. You really have an amazing setup! Hugs from Georgia!

So cool... When you cook with an open flame, it’s good to keep a large, rung-out wet towel nearby to quickly cover any possible fire as a precaution. It’s good to have a dual-use headlamp flashlight. They also have baseball caps w/ press-button lights on them. Keep a 55-gallon water barrel w/ a pump & filtration for emergencies.

Look for land in higher elevations whichever state you choose. Flatlands & valleys will surely suffer in flash flooding. Be alert to what the residents around you have had to deal with in the past & do things to be prepared for emergencies or you are more likely to suffer.

Great videos! With regard to your water and your dispenser. The 5 gallon plastic bottle should have a screw lid where it could be on the dispenser when your at camp and you could take it down and cap when your gone. It would also be good to have 2-3 bottles of water. Another thing I noticed is you have no reflector behind the stove. You can make a hinged wall out of t pieces of plywood or concrete board with a layer of sheet metal as the reflector. You would put this up on the back side and door side which projects the heat into the center of the tent. I have spent up to 30 days living in canvas wall tents for hunting season. I loved that time of the year. We have bear in Northern MN. too where the camp was located. I envy your setup!!!

Hi There Loved your video of tenting on your land. I live on 2.5 acres of natural bush surrounds... but in a house. We prospect in the outdoors so we can understand your love of the outdoors. When your Goal Zero Yeti 400 battery gradually gets worse I would suggest replacing with a 12v vehicle type lithium battery. More expensive but Much lighter & much better performance. No need to stop using at 50% level. I buy all my device batteries these days as Lithium. Even the Neato Robot vacuum cleaner runs 2x longer & lasts years. Take it from a retired auto electrician. Cheers Trevor & Rosemary in West Australia.
