Jurassic Park is an AoE2 custom scenario of the hide-and-seek variety. Villagers run and hide around the map, while the Dinosaur player hunts them down. Build camps to generate resources, and always be on the lookout to make a quick escape in a transport ship!

Yeah, they definitely used Deinonychus and called it a Velociraptor, which got REALLY confusing later on, when I was reading a Dinotopia novel and they were talking about Deinonychus, and I was trying to get a mental image... As for Dilophosaurus, wasn't the "invented" part just the acid-spitting? Or did they get the size wrong on those, too?

@@c182SkylaneRG TBF, every single one of those dinos reaaaaally haven't aged well in terms of scientific accuracy. Which sucks since popculture is obcessed with those depictions. For the most part, dinosaurs were not reptiles. They were protobirds

They were protobirds. mostly covered in feathers. The idea of them being big lizards comes from older misconceptions before they started uncovering feather imprints, and other fossil evidence on species faaaaar older than Archaeopteryx, which for a long time were presumed to be the earliest discovered bird species.

I used to play a JP game called "Chaos Island" which is a click-and-command PC game. You play as explorers and researchers, the good guys, while avoiding the hunters, the bad guys, as well as wild dinosaurs that attack anything within their vision. I sometimes imagined having the dinosaurs from JP roam around AoE maps as wild animals that could be killed for food, or be an extra dangerous hazard to you or your enemies, or to each other.

I loved that game so much. The CD exploded in the drive, hundreds of sparkly slivers of plastic. 9 or 10 year-old me was devastated, especially since it took a year or so to get a new CD-ROM drive 11. I remember collecting and incubating eggs to train my own dinos as well. I like your idea of dinos instead of herdables and wolves, plus it would be cool to see relics turned into eggs you could hatch at the monastery/nursery or something to that effect.

You are a pretty good hunter SotL. I agree that Hunting is pretty fun. I would play this all the time in HD. (Mainly building though. sometimes hunting. I have not lately though. Doing other things.) I doubt I could play this in DE though. I can barely even play wall builders in multiplayer. (My PC can't handle MP in DE very well.) Nonetheless, it was a pretty good video on JP.
