I miss this man so much! He was everywhere when I was a kid, in the 1970s. Then he did the introduction for Buck Rogers, a superior television show, and I didn’t even realize it was him till later! His Booming Voice was so unique.

This brings back memories of my step dad. We were very poor back in those days in the early 70's, and didn't have a T.V. He bought us a used record player, and we went to the library to check out records. He checked this one out for us, along with other story records. Our imagination ran wild, and he would scre us as we huddled around the record player. Back then we had no clue we were poor.

These old records are still today far better and scarier. They let our imaginations run wild and free. There was no blood and guts that's not horror that's just the news in these days. Murder itself no longer a crime in some cities today nor is burning everything in sight. No big deal our kids have seen so much of it from Hollywood to violent video games. Reality is the biggest scare around but losing it's shock value and fear is the first thing to go when it is used as a weapon people get fed up with fear. But not these the creep factor is as strong as it was from the day these came out. Now those brought up with these tales still say they are scary as ever and their kids listened to them say the same. Many reasons I guess but who cares they still do what they did from the moment they came out. Good stuff Thank You!!

I remember this album from my childhood. I used to check it out from my local library then, every Halloween 🎃time it seemed. Wow, forgot all about it until a KZbin search I happened upon! What a memory- thanks for post! 😃

This is the first time I've ever listened to this, or even heard of it. The gentleman reading this has, admittedly, a very low, raspy, and at times, threatening, voice that narrates these stories masterfully! As for Vincent Price, I've listened quite a few times to his stories. Stories that are the stuff and the style of legend! Ever listen to Boris Karloff's record "Are you one of the frightened"? Rippingly good stories!

One of the best of the horror LP albums, especially for the telling of the Debbo Engal and Feyerel story. William Conrad is much missed; the type of actor that doesn't exist now.

William Conrad was actually Matt Dillon on radio before the television series ever aired. He also hosted the radio series, Escape.
