Spiritual Warfare Bible Scriptures | Put on the Whole Armor of God

Devotional: Regardless if we know it or not, we are and will always be in a spiritual war. The Bible says that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). As Believers, our battles begin and end in the spirit. We do not war according to the flesh, but in the spirit (2 Corinthians 10:3) . Everything that happens to us and around us is a physical manifestation of what has already taken place in the spiritual realm, therefore if we wait for the war to manifest, it is already too late. The question is: how do we war in the spirit? First, we need to understand that Jesus Christ has already won the war for us and has given us authority over the enemy (Luke 10:19). The enemy wants us to think he still has a chance to overcome us, but understand that he has already been defeated! Secondly, we need to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). As a Believer, the weapon of our warfare is the Word of God, which is sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Remember, the war with Satan always begins in the mind, and to combat him we must hold captive every thought with the Word (2 Corinthians 10:5). Jesus defeated Satan in the wilderness by only speaking the Word of God to him. When the enemy comes to attack you, whether it’s your health, finances, family, friends, etc., speak the Word to combat it. Know that the Word is spirit and life (John 6:63), the only way to defeat evil spirits is with the Spirit of the Word.
